"Well that was anticlamatic," Marshall said kicking a rock with his paw. The Cave was dark and moist with the slightest aroma of wet moss. However, the most disappointing fact was that the cave itself, was empty.
"Empty. It's empty," Chase said flatly.
"Did you expect to find something?" Hector asked.
"Kind of," Rocky mumbled.
"Well let's explore. This caves gotta be bigger than this," Ryder said stepping forward. Hector pulled his arm back.
"I-it could be dangerous! Are you sure?" Hector asked, ignoring Ryders puzzled face.
"We do dangerous for a living," Zuma grinned.
"I thought danger was our middle name?" Rubble asked the brown pup.
"That's Dannys thing," Skye stated. Rubble rolled his eyes.
"Dangerous or not, we still have to check it out if we want to plan against Humdinger," Ryder said. Chase looked at Hector suspiciously. Hector rubbed his hands together nervously. The pups spread out, noses to the ground. Hector stood next to Ryder, who was looking at the ground. He hummed nervously as Ryder stepped away.
"Chase, come here," Ryder said. Chase trotted over and looked to where Ryder was pointing. Looking up at his friend, he understood. Footprints, but not theirs.
Hector looked up to see Ryder waving him over. No words were exchanged as he looked down at Ryders shoes. It was almost impossible to not notice the faint outline of small footprints leading further into the cave.
Meanwhile Rocky had wandered by an unusual placed rock. Zuma jogged over as Rocky disappeared behind the rock.
"Rocky?" Zuma asked seeing his tail disappear. He stepped forward as Rocky reappeared. Rocky had a blank expression.
Hector stared at the footprints when suddenly a scratching noises filled the cave. Ryder turned and saw Rubble, Rocky, and Zuma pushing a tall and wide rock. Skye and Chase's eyes widened as an opening, with light coming from it, appeared. Marshall gasped.
