The man now known as Gibbs showed Jack the crew he picked up. "Feast your eyes, Captain. All of them faithful hands before the mast. Every man worth his salt, and crazy to boot." He said Will turning over to him. "And this is your able-bodied crew?" He asked receiving no answer, which caused Y/N to chuckle. "You, Sailor!" He said walking over to the older man with the parrot on his shoulder. "Cotton, sir." Gibbs introduced. "Mr.Cotton, do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death?" He asked receiving no answer. "Answer, man!" He said causing Gibbs to lean over to the two. "He's a mute, sir. Poor devil had his tongue cut out. So we trained the parrot to talk for him." He said Cotton opening his mouth to show proof he had no tongue. Jack stuck out his tongue for a moment. "No one's yet figured how." Gibbs said, Jack turned to his parrot. "Mr. Cottons parrot, same question." He said. "Ah! Wind in your sails! Wind in your sails!" The parrot spoke in broken English. Jack tilled his head to Gibbs for an answer. "Mostly, we figure that means 'yes.' " Gibbs said. "Of course it does. Satisfied?" Jack asked turning to the Turner's. "Well you've proved they're mad." Will said Y/N shaking his head slightly. "How does one not being able to speak make them mad?" He asked chuckling slightly at Wills logic. "They are mad though." He said afterwards agreeing with Will. Jack nodding and quickly turning away.

Y/N looked confused and poked the parrot to which the parrot snapped at his finger. He rolled his eyes and continued to try and poke at the parrot before Cotton interfered and smacked his hand away from his parrot. "What's the benefit for us?" A female voice asked causing Jack to move over to her. He lifted her hat to see her face and smiled nervously. "Anamaria!" He said before he got slapped agian. "I suppose you didn't deserve that one, either." Will said before Y/N spoke up. "He's a bloody pirate, of course he deserved it." Y/n said rolling his eyes when Jack looked at him offended. He scoffed before nodding in Y/Ns direction, showing he was correct. "You stole my boat!" She said Jack turning back to look at her. "Actually-" Jack began before he got smacked in the face agian. Causing Y/N to lose it and burst out laughing. "Borrowed without permission, but with every intention of bringing it back to you." He said quite loudly so he would be heard of the taller males laughing. "But you didn't!" She said causing Y/N to lean on Jack to prevent himself from falling as he began to laugh harder.

"You'll get another one." Jack said his voice breaking a bit. Anamaria pointed a finger in his face. "I will." She said before Will interrupted. "A better one." He said Jack quickly turning to him and then back to Anamaria. "A better one!" He repeated, his voice still cracking, which Will had noticed but decided not to say anything. "That one." He said pointing to a ship. "What one?" Jack asked turning his head to Will at lightning speed. Y/N finally got all his laughs out and stood straight. Jack turned to where Will was pointing and his eyes widened as he turned back to Will. "That one?" He asked to which Will nodded. The crew also looking over to the ship and back at Anamaria. "Aye, that one." Jack said. "What say you?" Asked Jack to which Anamaria shouted, "Aye!" The crew quickly following behind. "Aye!"

The crew stepped into the ship and Y/N wrapped his arms around Jack before Gibbs popped up. "No, no. It's frightful bad luck to have a woman aboard, sir." He said causing Y/Ns face to turn into one of confusion. This was the first time that he could remember hearing that. "It's far worse not to have her." He said ignoring the taller man's arm and walking to the ship. "That was... Kinda rude." Y/N states turning to Will. Will scoffed and followed behind Jack. Y/N and Gibbs looked at each other before shrugging and stepping aboard as well.

A storm had picked up and the water became more aggressive, some of the waves splashing the deck as the men worked in the harsh conditions. Jack looked at his compass which just so happen to point your way. Which Jack didn't really acknowledge and figure it was coincidence. "How can we said to an island nobody can find with a compass that doesn't work!" Will shouted to Gibbs. "The compass doesn't point north, but we're not trying to find north, are we?" Mr.Gibbs said before stepping up to Jack. "We should stop canvas, sir." He said Jack turning to look at him. "She can hold a bit longer." He said before turning back to the sea. "What's put you in such a fine mood, Captain?" Mr.Gibbs asked, squinting his eyes to try to see in the rain. "We're catching up." He said, Y/N hearing this while clinging onto the railing (railing 🤨).
"Good, I don't think I can-" Y/N began but cut his sentence short, covering his mouth.

"Puts a chill in the bones, how many honest sailors have been claimed by this passage." Mr.Gibbs said, Y/N running up to Jack since he was the closest person. "Shore, how far til we reach it?" He asked holding his stomach causing Jack to tilt his head to the hunched over man. "Soon, if you puke on my ship I'm throwing you over board." He threatened turning back to where the shore was. "Oh good, how do ya turn it?" Y/N asked leaning onto Jack and watching him. Jack sighed and told Y/N some things about ships and steering one.

"How is it that Jack came by that compass?" Will asked. "Not a lots known about Jack before he showed up in Tortuga with a mind to find the treasure of the Isla de Muerta. That would be before I met him, when he captained the Black Pearl." Gibbs said causing Will to turn around. "What?" He asked while Gibbs drank. "He failed to mention that." Will said. "He plays things closer to the vest now. A hard-learned lesson it was. Three days out on the venture, the first mate says,  "everything will be of equal share, that means the location of the treasure too." So Jack gives up the bearings. That night, there was a mutiny. They marooned Jack on an island and left him to die, but not before he got mad with the heat. " Gibbs said. Will made a small 'ah' sound in acknowledgment. "So that's the reason for all the..." He leaned back and walked all wobbly like Jack does. "Reasons got nothing to do with it. Now, will. When a pirates marooned, he's given a pistol with a single shot- one shot. That one do much good hunting, nor to be rescued. But after three weeks of a starvin' belly and thirst, that pistol started to look real friendly." He said making a finger gun a putting it to his head. "But Jack escaped the island and still has that single shot. He won't use it, though, save one man. His mutinous first mate." Gibbs continued before Will took a guess. "Barbossa." Will said, Gibbs nodded "Aye."

"How did Jack get off the Island?" Will asked. "Well I'll tell ye. He waded out into the shallows and he waited three days and three nights till all manner of sea creatures came acclimated to his presence. And on the fourth morning, he roped himself a couple of sea turtles, lashes them together and made a raft." Gibbs explained Will not what so ever believing him. "He roped a couple of sea turtles." Will repeated. "Aye, sea turtles." Confirmed Gibbs. "What did he use for rope?" Will asked. Gibbs turned to Jack who still had Y/N's arm around his shoulder. "Human hair, from my back." Jack said. "That, so unbelievable and gross." Y/N said, Jack turned to him for a moment, not responding. "That's like real gross, mate." He continued. "Let go the anchor!" Jack commanded the crew quickly following and repeating his demand.

"The Turner's and I are to go ashore." Jack said begining to walk away, Y/N said a almost silent 'yes,' he really did not want to throw up in front of many pirates, or Jack, or well Will. "Captain. What if the worst should happen?" Gibbs asked, catching up to Jack. "Keep to the Code." Jack said and continued walking off to the shore.

"Aye. The Code." Gibbs repeated
