Tam and Dex pov (If you are wondering why I'm doing both of their Pov's, It's because they are not so left out)
A boy stood at the railing of the healing center, flicking away his silver bangs, pale blue eyes scanning the night sky. He radiated a nervous energy as if he was waiting for something bad.
Beside him, a boy fiddled with two pieces of metal, filling the hallway with sound of metal clanging together. His periwinkle eyes followed his little scraps of metal intensely.
The first boy sighed."When are you going to stop, Dex?"
Dex 's eyes followed the sound of laughter. "Probably when they stop." He sighed."But there's nothing we can do, Tam. They're happy, we're not."
Their friends lay in the healing center, teasing each other. Keefe's cot lay mere inches away from Biana's. He was wowing his girlfriend with cheesy pickup lines. Despite the 'lameness' of Keefe's jokes, Biana was still laughing. Tam's heart twisted with jealousy at the sight of the happy couple and it definitely did not help that his previous crush was with Mr-my-jokes-are-lame.
Dex eyes watered as he watched Linh amaze Wonderboy with her water tricks. Fitz stared at Linh in awe. He looked as if he was madly in love with her, which he was. Dex wanted tear his limbs out because he dumped Sophie. He had no idea why Linh was his- nope not going there. But he's the golden boy from the amazing Vacker family, Dex thought. Therefore, Everyone would fall head over heels for him.
The adults were in the healing center with the two couples. Della had her head on Alden's shoulder, exchanging sweet comments about Fitz, Linh, Biana, and Keefe. They all seemed so peaceful, even though the Neverseen hadn't been defeated yet.
Of course they aren't. Not when everybody was out of commision. Tam lifted his head to look at the moon, shining brightly in the night sky. He and Dex had chose this spot to meet to discuss the matter of the Neverseen beacause their friends could help. But they probably didn't even know they were here.
"So how are we going to defeat the Neverseen without their help?" Tam asked, stealing a discreet glance at the healing center.
Dex replied, "I'm building a gadget that 's supposed to track-"
"Wait," Tam surveyed the hallway, feeling an eerie sense of dread creeping up his spine. The shadows moved around unnaturally, creating a whirlpool of shadows under Dex and Tam.
"I think-"
That was the last thing Tam said before they were teleported into a Neverseen base.

Sophie's pov
"What are we going to do about the Neverseen?"
Sophie had been repeating that question in her head a dozen times ever since she had invited Marella over to Havenfield to discuss about... well, stuff. It was only until now that she discovered she said it out loud.
Marella twirled one of the braids scattered in her hair around her finger."I don't know. The others have been distant ever since...
Ever since the attack from the trolls.
Sophie had been trying very hard not to think about what she had seen that day. But it was impossible to avoid it as they might need to use that piece of information to find out what the Neverseen was planning.
She took a deep breath and started,"Remember when the the mutant trolls attacked?"
Marella nodded glumly."Never gonna forget that day."
Sophie agreed too, but that wasn't important."That day, when I had to go save Tam, the whole place was flickering- like an illusion. Than I saw a pair of eyes looking at me from the bushes. One was a weird but nice pale blue, and the other was silver. I think that person was the one making the illusions, instead of Vespera, like we thought."
Marella thought for a moment, before saying,"Whoever that person is, she's not an elf (Yeah, it's a she. But it's kinda not stated when Sophie explained, cuz I didn't know how to put it in).
"Uh-huh,"Sophie nodded, but she wasn't listening. A whirlpool of shadows was forming in front of her.
"What's that?"She asked. Marella grasped her arm tightly. "It's probably a portal. Don't step in-"
But they were already teleported away.(Yikes, Sophie, you should really listen to Marella).

Sophie's Pov
Sophie raised her head to see Tam and Dex in identical cells. Dex was fiddling with one of his machine stuff and Tam looked like he was contemplating his life choices.
"Where are we?"Marella whispered, her voice laced with fear.
"A Neverseen base. I saw the sign on the floor."Tam said.
Just then, Gethen walked in with an annoyingly cheerful smile. "Ah, there's my little moonlark and her minions."
"I'm not your moonlark,"Sophie spat through gritted teeth."And they aren't my minions."
Gethen grinned."Keep telling yourself that."
"Now, Now." Gisela appeared behind him. "This is not the time to play with them, Gethen. We still have an experiment to conduct."
"An experiment?"Marella questioned."Is that why you kidnapped Tam?"
Gisela nodded, confirming Sophie's worst fears.
"The reason we took Tam was because we needed a shade and a flasher to merge the two of you together. We don't have a shade, so we need your little friend here."
Dex scratched his head."But who's the two of them?"
Gethen cackled."Great question little technopath. We want to merge your moonlark and Alia here to form the most powerful being ever. Bring her in, Ruy!"
Sophie watched in horror as Ruy dragged a thrashing girl into the room, feeling sickening dread settle in her stomach as she met the silver-blue eyes of the girl.
The same pair of eyes she met that day.
