Chapter 1: Despair Beginning

It was evening, it would be the last evening of happiness.Gernado was in his room writing to join a paranormal hunting group, he read over his resume hoping it was good enough, and sent it off, Anxiety was rushing through his mind as he bounced his leg up and down as he stared at his PC.he then heard a knock at the door, he got up and opened it, and his little sister Mercina stood there with a semi-decent pottery sculpture, of two figures, one tall one, and one shorter one.. stood there, hugging."Hello, brother!! I made you this! I know I'm supposed to wait for your birthday but I can't wait any longer!!!" Mercina exclaimed jumping up and down, Gernado smiled at his sister "aw.. thank so much! is this us?" Gernado asked, and Mercina nodded "mhm!! it's us hugging!!!!" Mercina giggled, Gernado patted her on the head and smiled "thank you Mercina... I love it, you know you could make a fortune selling pottery like this! you're very talented" "yeah... maybe when I'm older!!" Mercina giggled "heh.. yeah maybe" Gernado smiled, he looked over and noticed the time, 10:30 PM "oh god, it's late we should both go to bed Mercina." Gernado placed his pottery gift on his desk." oh, okay....! hey tomorrow can we go to that new ice cream place that opened up?!" "Frosties wonderland?? that big Ice Cream parlor with an indoor playground?" Gernado asked, and Mercina nodded "oh, yeah sure alright we'll go! and do you wanna visit Grace afterward?" Mercina's eyes lit up "YES PLEASE!!!!" Mercina did tiny jumps up and down, Grace was her best friend, Grace was only 2 years younger than her but it felt like the two were sisters! Mark is relieved to see that at least at least Grace has someone to hang out with."Well, you're gonna have to go to sleep for that to happen alright?" Gernado booped Mercina's nose and she giggled "okay!! night!" and she ran to her room to go to bed, Gernado sighed and closed his door, and he called up Mark.and Mark being Mark always picked up the phone"Hello?""hey man, sorry if it's late just wanted to ask you something""no, you're fine, what's up?""it's my birthday tomorrow, Mercina and I are going to go out and celebrate, and she wants to visit Grace afterward, is that alright?""Sure man! perfectly fine!""Sweet! thank a lot man""No problem, enjoy your birthday""Thank you! alright I'll see you later.""See you!"--line hangup--the next day came in an instant, like a fleeting dream. Mercina rushed to her brother's room and shook him awake "WAKE UP! WAKE UP!! IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!" Mercina exclaimed, and her brother slowly woke up, of course... Groaning at the sudden movements "ugh... I'm up... I'm upp..." Gernado Groaned "happy birthday Gernado!" Mercina giggled and Gernado smiled while sitting up "alright alright, I'm getting ready, get out" Mercina saluted and walked out of the room while Gernado got dressed, after he was done he took Mercina to 'Frosties Wonderland'The Last day it would ever be open."what ice cream would you like?" Gernado asked as he grabbed his credit card out of his wallet "hmm I was... Strawberry Fairys!" "that's the name?" "mhm!!" "heh.. nice." "what ice cream are you gonna have?" Mercina asked "hmm... I guess Mint Chocochip Galore." Gernado replied "mmm!! yummy! lemme have a taste when you get it!" Mercina giggled "haha... alright" Gernado laughed, the building then started shaking, Mercina panicked and clung onto Gernado "G...Gerny what's going on?!" Gernado picked Mercina up and held her close protecting her "I don't know... let's go..!"Gernado saw disfigured demons coming from the shadows reaching their hands out to the kids, everyone started panicking and screaming as the cashier was revealed to be an alternate, bloodshed was happening, and Gernado and Mercina were caught in the middle of it. Gernado knew he had to get out of there and started running to the exit as everyone was screaming, blood flow could be heard, Gushing from the once alive body, and children crying and being taken away to be brainwashed and crystalized into alternates... a new body... a new life... a new name... a new mind.Gernado was almost at the exit when a tall Figure stood in front, his grey Robe so magical and alluring, but sinister... Gernado looked up to see Gabriel staring down at the measly human protecting his dear weak sister "s...stay back!!" Gernado yelled holding his gun to Gabriel, Gabriel laughed "oh...~ you think guns can stop me?~" he chuckled more as Gernado held his grip on the pistol "how.. cute...~ I think I'll let you live...~ it will be fun to torment you mentally...~" the rest was a Blur... Gernado has blacked out, Mercina was shaking Gernado aggressively "BROTHER! GERNADO PLEASE!! WAKE UP! I'M SCARED!!" Mercina cried, Gernado slowly opened his eyes, his head was throbbing and his ears were ringing, but he got up as quickly as he could, and he saw the exit right there "Mercina.. come on.. we're so close... we can go home!" Gernado grabbed Mercina's hand as he limp-ran to the exit until he heard a piercing sound, he looked down at Mercina, her abdomen had been impaled by one of Gabriel's claws, Gabriel laughed like a madman as the world slowed down for Gernado as he held his dying sister in his arms "Mercina... MERCINA PLEASE...! DON'T GO!! PLEASE I NEED YOU..!" Gernado screamed, sobbing through his pleas for life... "YOU MIGHT ASWELL FINISH THE JOB!!! TAKE ME TOO!!" Gernado yelled at Gabriel tears forming down his face, Gabriel kneeled down to Gernado, tracing his claw along his neck up to his chin "well..~ that's just no fun is it?~ the greatest torture I can give someone... is not being able to die..~" Gabriel then scratched one of Gernado's eyes blinding him permanently, but giving his alternates the sign to not kill him... ever... he will never know the sweet release of death..... and he will never see his sister again... the parlour fogged up as Gabriel and his underlings disappeared, with a few body's left behind... and Gernado was the only survivor... he held his sister in his arms rocking back and forth refusing to believe he had lost her so soon... he looked around the room in horror... tears streaming down his face..........." what have I witnessed...?" !!

In the present.

Gernado was in despair after what he had witnessed, but he saw someone who was asking who was alive in this disaster, Gernado thought before he shouted, He decided not to call and ran away from the person to the BPS HQ. He looked for Adam and Jonah but it was empty in the HeadQuarters, He seemed confused " Hmm... I wonder where they are..? " thinks if they took the job without him, He sighed and went to the chilling room, Gernado looked around to if there were extra clothes in the closet, And yes there are extra clothes " Ah! finally, a clothes " He grabbed the extra clothes and went on changing, After a few mins his finally done changing, Now his gonna need to drive the van to see what was going on, He grabbed the keys and went outside, He heard quacks, He was frightened and looked around, all he saw is an alt. duck which is friendly, " Quack quack! " " A duck in the woods!? how did that get here!? " He looks at the duck in confusion, The duck came close to him and jumps, " Uhh... What? " The duck kept jumping, it seems it wants to be picked up, Gernado finally gets it and picked up the duck, " Huh... I wonder why the duck wants to come with me but... I hope it doesn't die too... " He still remembers that time when his sister was killed, The duck seems he doesn't wanna let him be upset, The duck starts quacking, Gernado should probably go in the van before something happens, " Woah alright... " Gernado immediately hops in the van and starts the engine, While driving, The duck kept making noises and Gernado was trying not to get distracted by driving but was annoyed at it, 4 mins later the duck became silent, Gernado tries to contact the other BPS members but there was no signal, " Goddamit! No signal!? Cmon! " He was really pissed off, Otherwise the duck tries to hold its laughter because doesn't wanna let him know that the duck is an alternate, Gernado looked at the duck suspiciously..., " ..Gonna keep an eye on ya Lil dude... " The duck looks scared and just sits down, Gernado continues to focus on driving.
