Grace's POV:
Every morning was just like the other, wake up to a miserable, noisy life, no entertainment and no change. School was probably the only thing that made an ounce of joy flow into my system, the friends, freedom, all was good except the school work but that's what school is for I guess.Today was a bit different though, there was a class mix up, they always did this randomly once a month. It was when the teachers would sort out the students according to grades, tidiness or misunderstanding in notes or lack of notes there of. I wasn't that of a "goody two shoes" or a "teacher's pet" but I always had every note and they were all neatly written in every one of my notebooks.
All the students lined up, every form were either outside or lined up to swap classes for the day. The teacher called my name knocking me out of a day dream that unfortunately was one of the most interesting part of the day until now, "Stephon you will be seated with Grace!" I looked as he walked towards my direction, books in hand and a charming, welcoming smile, he had a confident strut and I could already sense he's a friendly person.
"Could this be a new friendship perhaps? " I thought to myself, I couldn't help but over think it, I mean how would I introduce myself? How would I make and leave a good first impression? How can I play it cool? A soft shake sent me back into reality and there he was, his hand on my shoulder with a concerned look on his face. "Are you okay Grace? " he asked softly, making sure to make eye contact, "Yeah I am, nice to meet you uh Stephon, right? "I asked, and that's when I finally heard his voice, " Yeah I am, it's nice to meet you Grace! " he said softly and calmly.
Seeing him up close made me feel a type a way, something that I've never experienced in a while but I couldn't quite put my finger on it just yet, he was perfect, from my perspective he was perfect, his hair looked soft and so puffy and not to mention his figure, his body structure was so slim, it made him look adorable.
I just hoped I didn't butcher our first conversation, "He probably thinks I'm a weirdo!" I thought to myself when I glanced over at him for a split second, I mentally slapped my forehead and tried to act as casual as everyone else did. "So missing notes I'm assuming? " I broke the silence and he replied by coming closer to me, unexpectedly, my breathing hitched causing me to hold onto my chest, I tried playing it off as best as I can and acted normal. "Yeah, guess you think I'm some sort of delinquent right? " he said ending his remark with a chuckle, "Hmmmm Stephon the bad boy has a ring to it, don't you think?" I teased, sending back a chuckle in return.
He started laughing and it made me smile, he was laughing and I caused it, it was wonderful. There was little simple things we bonded over, whether it was our favorite color to how was our view on things, the chat went on and on until the bell rang for break. "Hey, do you wanna maybe hang out if you have nothing to do later? " I nodded and smiled gently,"I'd love too! "
Class resumed as normal for all the students and unfortunately Stephon had too leave, I kept replaying what just happened in my head over and over, feeling the heat rising on my cheeks and I couldn't help but let out a tiny squeal of joy and excitement, something I haven't done for a very long while and honestly, it was incredible.
