"Why can't you just admit it?" Venezuela's voice echoed in the empty room, her frustration spilling over. Sky stood there, arms crossed, a storm brewing behind his eyes.
"I'm not going to play this game with you, Ven!" he shot back, his tone sharp as if to cut through the thick air between them.
"Game? This isn't a game!" She stepped closer, the heat between them palpable. "You think I don't see how you look at me? How you pretend nothing's wrong when we both know it is?"
Sky clenched his jaw, unwilling to meet her gaze. "Maybe I just don't want to deal with your drama."
"Drama? You're the one creating it! Just say it, Sky! Just say it!" The words hung heavy in the air, a truth neither of them wanted to face.
Silence fell, and in that moment, everything shifted. Sky's eyes finally met hers, vulnerability cracking through his facade. "I... I can't."
"Why not?" Venezuela pressed, her heart racing. "Is it because you think we can't work? I can't believe it! You still think we're not worth fighting for don't you? Just whyyyy Sky!??? Why!?"
"Because I can't watch you walk away again!" His voice broke, raw and real. "I still love you, Sky" she says it in a whisper, barely audible yet it almost knocks his breath out.
