(Y/N), The princess who couldn't see. That's how everyone in the palace saw me at least. I could feel the pity radiating off them when they passed me in the halls. I hated that, but it's not like I could tell them, "Hey I can see! Just not with my eyes." They would probably say something like, Oh sure you can. Or just tell the Emperor and he would have a doctor check up on me.
The last time I saw colour, or even just seeing in general, was before the great devourer. Before the accident. I remember having independence, now my 'parents' always make sure that I have at least one attendant around me at all times. 'So you don't get hurt' they would always tell me. You would think, it's been 5 years since I've been living here I would have at least a little more freedom. But no, 'It's too dangerous for you to be alone (Y/N)'.
It's not often I see my parents. They always claim they are 'too busy' to socialize with me. So most of the time they left Hutchins with me. Hutchins was and still is the most prominent parental figure in my life. It's no wonder I keep so many secrets from my adoptive family. My most recent discovery about myself was that I am the only living descendant of the Master of Wind. Of course, I haven't told anyone besides Hutchins. I had to beg him to train me how to use my ability. Even then he wouldn't let me do too much, he kept saying 'I want you to be careful and take your training slow"
That was 3 years ago, now I know I can do so many things. Such as telling when someone is lying, seeing without my eyes (like Toph but not earthbending), tell exactly where someone is at a given moment anywhere in a certain radius. That radius still is yet to be determined but still, I mean I suppose in a way I have connected with myself. Connected with my roots, and with my birth parents.
I only wish I could do more with my gift.
