This chapter is already longer than the first, and they will most likely stay around the same length as this one.

I had heard rumors among the place staff that my parents were having a public speech the next morning. Something about 'keeping the people's morale up about the rising crime'. I don't agree with it but nobody's gonna take my word seriously, I am blind after all.

Time skip

I was right, Hutchins arrived in my room and told me to get ready for a public announcement. Then my 'maids' entered to help me dress. They weren't staff to me, to me they were my best friends Aubrey and Ainsley. These two have been the only stable relationships I have ever had in my life, besides Hutchins.

As Aubrey went to get my outfit, my sister Harumi entered the room. "I see you have just started getting ready," she said in a teasing tone. Ainsley jumped not expecting anybody to be there.
"It's a little hard to do my own makeup, you know, being blind and all," I retaliated, Ainsley, getting back to painting my face. I could tell she was uncomfortable with Harumi's presence, so I started," Aubrey should be getting back with my robes shortly, now unless you want to help me Harumi I suggest you get going."
I could tell her face scrunched up ever so slightly, as she turned around to leave.
Aubrey had returned with my attire, moving swiftly past Harumi. "I suppose I will have to see you outside, dear sister," I sound.
"Yeah, I suppose," she speaks, then takes this chance to leave.

"Princess, we need to get you in your robes." I sigh, "Aubrey I have told you you can call me (Y/N). Say how much time do I have?" she glanced at her watch, "About 20 minutes."

"..."
the room was silent, "WHAT! You know what, I think I will have to dress myself, thank you. I need to go, I will see you both later!"
They just laughed and told me to move quickly.

Outside of the palace
(3rd person)

Hundreds of people stood waiting for the royal family to make their announcement. The tension in the air was heavy, everyone was nervous about the Sons of Garmadon.
Everyone was relying on the Emporer to ease their minds and fear.

(Y/N) pov

Turns out the Emporer is doing this publicity stunt for the people of Ninjago. Something about the rising crime, and how 'we are going to do our duty to protect them,' whatever that means.

Suddenly something goes off and Harumi and I are pushed to the ground forcefully. The person who pushed us to the ground asked if it was clear, then I heard another voice claiming it was a false alarm.
The body above us gets up and helps Harumi and me up. Just as they let go I am pulled back towards the palace.

As we arrive back inside the palace from our quick outing, Harumi asked to invite the ninja inside the palace. She claimed they could help protect the one mask that we owned from the Sons of Garmadon. Naturally, our parents agreed with her. They sent Hutchins to retrieve the ninja from the palace doors. Sadly I couldn't slip away into the comforts of my bedroom. Though having the ninja inside your home is rather exciting.

The minute Hutchins opened the first door for the ninja I could hear them. I mean they weren't exactly quiet but it's still a rather large palace. I could hear the amazement in some of their voices, and annoyance in others. As they grew closer to the throne room I grew more and more nervous, which I suppose should be expected. I haven't heard anybody outside the palace in 5 years!

Finally, the door opens, and the ninja enter.
