Monday morning, 7:00 a.m. I remembered to set my alarm clock to 6:00 a.m. So, i would get ready & be out by 7:00. I skipped breakfast & had a small cup of coffee. Since i don't have a car, I called a taxi cab. It's hard living independently at a young age. I graduated from high school two years ago. I moved out of my parent's house & found a small apartment in Memphis, Tennesse. I couldn't afford the rent so i put in a ad for a roomate. I had six roomates in one year. Boy, the livid memories of those inexplicable people. It was an terrible experience. I don't ever want to do that again. After the sixth month, i found another small apartment in Indiana. The rent was cheap but the neighborhood was dangerous. It's not much but it will do for now. As long as i got a roof over my head, that's alright with me.

My past jobs were a horrible experience too. Retail, janitor, fast-food, saleswoman, markerting. The list goes on. I almost went into the escorting business but unfortunately due to my unexperienced sexual life, i didn't get the job. Yesterday, i found an ad for a housekeeper at a hotel called "Neverland Inn". It was the only ad that was printed in bold on the newspaper. It was also the only ad i could apply for on the newspaper. All the other job positons were taken & full. I called the number & asked about the housekeeping position. A woman told me to come to the hotel today at 8 for a job interview. She told me where the hotel was located.

"Where to again, ma'am?" The taxi driver asked.

"Neverland Inn."

"Neverland Inn?" The driver questioned.

"Yes, Neverland Inn. I have the directions right here in my notepad." I pulled out the notepad with the written directions from my purse.

The driver waved me off, "No, i don't need the directions. I know where it is. May i ask, why are you going there?"

"I have a job interview. I'm applying as a housekeeper."

"You don't want to work there, ma'am."

"Why? Bad reviews?"

"Worst. It's not a safe place, ma'am. No one goes to that hotel ever. Not even to visit it."

"Well, if it's in a bad neighborhood then of course it's not safe. I'm sure there's some sort protection at the hotel like security or cameras."

He shook his head, "No, i mean the hotel itself isn't safe."

I arched an brow, "What do you mean?"

"Neverland Inn has been here for deacdes. It has a bad reputation for it's cryptic hospitality. At night, the police receive strange phone calls from the hotel rooms. Screams & scary voices. Blood dripping from the walls, disfigured shadows spotted down the hallways & roaming around the front lobby. It scares the customers away. That place carries a evil spirit. I forbid myself for ever stepping foot in that hotel."

I let out a loud laugh, "That is a good spooky story. You shouldn't be a taxi driver. You should be a author."

The driver sighed, "I'm warning you ma'am. Don't work there."

"Thanks for the tip but i need the job. This is my only chance."

We approached a bare road off the busy interstate. There's nothing but the road & trees in sight. The hotel is far away from town. This must be a discreet hotel for celebrites & special people. Or a private hotel for V.I.P only. I felt a cold breeze from the AC. It's pretty warm outside. There's no need for cool air.

"Driver? Can you turn down the air?"

"The air isn't on ma'am." The driver said.

"Are you sure?"
