As I followed tsireya, the bounce in her step not echoed in mine, my mind wandered as I looked out at the sea. had all of our people looking on in interest. Ilu beneath us circled, as much confusion and interest in them as our people wore.
We got to a Marui built simply but large enough for the family of six to settle in, for the time being, tsireya began to speak, "for you. your new home"
Jake sully began speaking but his voice was drowned out by my own thoughts as I watched the rest of the family walk into their home.
I laid down their belongings next to tsireya as their mother dropped a rug, her disproving of being in the strange new place filling the family with silence.
"we will let you settle in," I grabbed tsireya as all but the parents turned towards us, at the sudden eye contact between one of the brothers and tsireya I felt her heat up slightly under my hand.
"We will see you tomorrow for training." she nodded at the children before we began walking off, back towards our own Marui.
As we got far enough away she clung to my arm, "how attractive are those boys!" she stifled a squeal. This is where our differences show though, she loved the attention she got being the beautiful daughter of the Olo'eyktan, I, however, ignored it, finding it useless, and time-consuming when I could be bettering my skills.
Yet, here my sister was, fawning over a boy she had just met.
"Tsmuke, calm yourself, you just met this family."
she seemed to ignore my words, "and the way they were looking at us!"
"Us?" At this, I grabbed her and stilled her rant about the unknown boys.
She nodded and bit her lip.
At my sisters' gesture I sighed and rubbed my face, "Have your infatuation, but when it turns out those boys only like you because you're new and different, don't crumble."
She smiled and hugged me, tight. "This is a good change!"
At that she ran and dove into the water, her ilu taking her off into the reef. Preferring not to hear only about the new Omatikaya visitors, I continued walking until I reached the sand. Pulling my dagger from its place on my hip, I twisted it in my hand before moving, stabbing and jumping around an invisible enemy.
As I continued to train land fighting I felt eyes on my back, a familiar set of eyes.
At a slight squeak in the sand I jumped flipping and pulling my brother down, the dagger against his throat and a smirk plastered across my face.
At my sudden movement, and successful pinning, his friends around him erupted into laughter.
"you're getting good." His comment made my smirk turn into a grin before I sheathed my dagger. I pulled him to his feet again and smiled up at my only just taller brother.
He, and his friends, launched into a conversation regarding the new, and in their words, intruding na'vi.
I sat with them, ignoring their comments and discussion as I stared out at the small rock pools surrounding our village. It seems no matter where I go, the news of the new na'vi will follow me everywhere.
