Present.

His energetic laughter almost made Mirai want to tape his mouth to keep it shut. The same night after she arrived in Japan, Hinata Shoyo found out and immediately went to raid her residence. It was a huge house that once belonged to her parents, who were now happily residing in France like she once did. It was a tough decision for her to make, to go back to Japan and take a hiatus from her work.

"Stop laughing, Sho, it's not funny! Cut it out," Mirai protested, her lips pouting and her brows furrowing as she stared at her best friend— Hinata Shoyo. He looked more mature now, with shorter hair and a more muscular look. It almost shocked her that he was the same person who was skinny and short in their first year of high school.

"No, honestly! How could you send him that message, when you were meant to delete it? Now he'll think you miss him," Shoyo replied, chuckling as he felt the woman pull on his orange hair.

"But I do miss him. Not a day goes by that I do not think about him," her reply made Hinata Shoyo freeze on his spot, realizing just how serious the situation actually was.

"Hold on. So after all these years that you guys have broken up, you're telling me you still love and miss him?" Shoyo asked, earning a shy nod from Mirai. "There are so many goodlooking men in Paris, but you're still into Kageyama Tobio, that emotionless looking man? I can't believe you! You can be married to celebrities but you still choose your first love?"

Hearing all of that from her best friend made her blush. He was right. Every word.

"Why do you think I came back to Japan?" She looked him straight in the eye and asked.

"Duh, I thought it was because I was returning?" Shoyo said, his face contorted both out of disbelief and betrayal.

"Well, partly. But mostly because I really just wanted to see him again, closer. If I find out he already has a lover by now, then of course I'll just be on my way to Paris again after your match—"

"He's been single all this time, too. From what I've heard."

There was a long pause, until Hinata Shoyo sighed and dragged the woman out of the couch they were sitting on. With how sad she looked, he knew just what would cheer her up.

"Where are you taking me, Sho?" Mirai asked, but still put on her boots at the door after he gestured that they were going out.

"I'm recharging you. It seems that Mirai's battery is running low, so as her best friend, it is my duty to make her smile again. Don't be so sad on your first day back in Japan, Mirai! I'll take you to this one restaurant where they serve your favorite," Shoyo grinned, earning a thankful smile from Mirai.

"That's so sweet of you, Sho. I really don't know what to do if you weren't here,"

"Well, you survived a couple of years alone when I was in Brazil and you were in Paris."

"Still, we texted! It was like you were still there."

Kageyama Tobio could not calm himself down. It's been hours since he received the message from Mirai, and yet he still didn't know if she was hacked or it was just someone who pretended to be her. After all, it was her who insisted on the breakup. And with how famous she was now, how could she still miss him when she could have anyone she wanted in the world?

"What's gotten you so spaced out?" A white haired man nudged the setter, making him snap out of his thoughts. He forgot that he was in Hoshiumi Kourai's house, celebrating something that he could not recall. Hoshiumi made it his mission to celebrate every bit of success that he or his friends achieved, and although Kageyama probably didn't know it, what they were celebrating was the day his recent commercial was shown nationwide.
