Golem started up, watching the dead body, as though he thought it would move, and furthermore, attack him. Alas, it could not move. It was a Golem's skull with a cracked gem still embedded in it. A strange familiarity in the rose stapled to the side of the skull's head reminded him of who this poor corpse belonged to, but he questioned the mask.

The mask hung under the underside of the gem, whole, but cracked as well, and floated over the jaws of the creature it hid, and the spine of the carcass, though obviously was a Golem's spine, mechanical and wired, attached to some broken arms and legs, was caged in some wooden sticks that surrounded it like a box. Despite all the things Golem heard in the jungle, the rifling of leaves in the wind, the birds cawing and whistling in the distance, he could recall that familiar voice, and she was talking to him.

"That's not something you see every day", said the dead girl's body.

Golem could only gawk into her sockets, filled with complete darkness, but all in exception to the two white dots in the exact centers of her eyes, almost appearing as if she could see him.

"You- I remember you", she said, without her mouth, without movement, without even a wave, somehow, she could speak.

"You're from the town, aren't you? The one Golem that actually goes to school- but they must have driven you out, huh?"

Golem could only stare into the eyes some more.

"Geez, kid", it's just a dead body, weren't you running, before?" the girl said.

Golem stepped closer to it-slowly.

"What're you doing?"

Golem stepped closer, wanting to look at the frontal part of its' brain.

"Stop!" the girl cried.

Golem stopped.

"What-?" she doubted. "You can hear me?"

Golem nodded his head.

"That's weird. Didn't eat some bad bologna, did you?" she asked, jokingly.

Golem shook his head, "no".

"Well- As long as you can hear me, will you listen to my grief and lend me your aid?" she asked, more needy, almost in a cry. Golem re-positioned himself, to show he was listening closely.

"I dread being in this dark forest alone- I'd rather take company with the sunlight." she said, "I understand it's a simple matter of comfort- and not of safety- but it would mean so much to me. I don't want to be left here, this dark forest to be my resting place... I just want some sunlight. What say you, friend? Will you help a girl out?"

Golem thought about it quickly, and in a short manner, nodded his head, in agreement that he will take her to sunlight.

"Oh, thank you! If I were still alive- I feel like you'd recognize me better, this isn't mine, but I know you. I was sure you'd do it."

Golem grabbed the corpse's arm and wrapped it around himself. He began a long journey through the forest with the weight of two.

"Be careful" she'd say every once in a while, when he would come across a dangerous crowd of sharp rocks or a steep and slippery fall, and though she'd been completely useless without her soul being connected to her body, Sad Golem still seemed to enjoy her company. Her, unable to move, him, unable to speak. They almost understood each other completely, he'd never thought he'd meet such a wonderful person- and much less one that passed already. So young was her death, as he'd been told.
