He sat back on his heels. He was so tired. He had never experienced anything like the exhaustion he now felt. Wave after wave of Fallen and Cabal had attacked their position. They seemed to be working together, which was ridiculous to think about. Until you saw it happen. It seemed to be a part of some plan as well, because the waves always came the same way. Cabal Phalanxes would lead, Fallen Dregs close behind. Centurions and Captains would follow behind, hoping for a kill shot. They could be revived by their Ghosts, but that took time they didn't have. Every Guardian down meant more Fallen and Cabal streamed into the City. They're little group had held out remarkably well, mainly due to their "Supers," as the Guardians had taken to calling them. Titan's Fist of Havok and Warlock's Nova Bomb were great for clearing out big groups. They had lasted nearly a week this way, but had been forced to fall back a half-dozen times. The smoke from the destroyed sections of the City was thicker closer to the Tower, but it still stood. He looked over the edge of their newest barricade, and saw thousands of enemies streaming towards them. "FALL BACK!" He shouted. He boosted his helmet's speakers, making sure it got to everyone.

He materialized his Sparrow, and started driving for the Tower. He looked over his shoulder, and saw all of the others following him just as quickly. He sped for the Tower, hoping they could sort this mess out and save the City. His Ghost came alive with another message from the Speaker. He started to listen, before needing to swerve around debris hiding in a smoke cloud. A ramp from an old barricade shot him into the air, and he saw something that shocked him to his core. "The Tower. It's gone." In it's place stood a column of smoke and the destroyed lower half. The Traveler still floated, but he could see Ketch and Jumpship fire streaming into the giant being. He stopped his Sparrow, pulling Ghost from his space in the Sparrow. "Can you get me a broad message to every Guardian?" Ghost spun an turned, working. "I think I've got it." He spun one more time. "There. Its secure as well. Anything you say is heard only by other Guardians." He took a deep breath, trying to figure out what to say. He exhaled, and started talking.
