ch. 3 The Sickening Case of Celia Rose

Are you sure this is the right place Master Wu?" Lloyd asked for the group as we stood In front of a large family home that looked fairly normal.

I could feel my chest tighten slightly, not enough to warrant worry but enough to notice it.

Master Wu nodded, not needing to say much more. Lloyd looked at us all after glancing back at the house. "Alright everyone, looks like we might split up a bit, according to this file given to me. "We know most of what happened here, we just need to figure out how to set the spirits free."

I almost wanted to laugh, as if I just had witnessed the funniest thing I've seen in a while, but nothing was funny here.

I shook off the feelings and nodded to Lloyd as he looked around the group before deciding on the groups. "Master Wu, Pixel and Zane will stay out here, keeping an eye on cameras and the walkie-talkies since they aren't much help in the field for this mission. Nya, Cole and I will search the first floor while mom, Kai and Jay, you search the second floor." We all nodded again before Jay chipped in.

Suddenly it felt as if the ocean washed over me, I felt like I was drowning, like whatever I was doing wasn't enough.

"I'm sorry, but what exactly are we looking for Lloyd, they are ghosts, it's not like everything will be spelled out for us!?" I sighed, looking over at Lloyd who was holding the file, reading over it to himself. "Jay has a point, none of us know exactly what we are looking for." I mumbled, shaking the feelings away again.  Lloyd laughed slightly. "Sorry, i forgot to tell you. We are trying to find any sign of which room the spirit resonates in. That way Master Wu can free the spirit since this one has been confirmed as friendly." I hummed, nodding in understanding.

Nya spoke up, breaking her silence. "Alright then, let's get going, I would hate to make this ghost wait any longer if they are as friendly as you claim but before we go in, Cole do you feel anything?" all eyes adverted to me. I hummed, looking at the building again. "besides a faded amount of grief that still lingers in the walls of the home, no." I mumbled. it was not a lie, the Grief here wasn't too strong, at least on the outside, so it wasn't really effecting me. "So, are you going to let us look at the file or no?" Kai spoke up for the first time during the briefing.  Lloyd shook his head. "unfortunately, I cant. It was decided that we wont let you guys see the file to make sure your powers are working correctly. See how much you can get correct about the house." 

"I guess that makes sense." Jay shrugged, Kai grunted before mumbling to himself. "A warning would be nice." I looked at him confused. "what was that?" he cleared his throat. "Nothing." 

A warning? Why would he want a warning?

I followed Nya inside as Lloyd pointed The others to the upstairs. He looked back at us, motioning for us to follow him. Lloyd led us to the kitchen, where he seemed to pause and look around. I glanced around the room. The kitchen was small, cozy, almost welcoming. Almost.

"You alright Cole?" Nya snapped me out of my thoughts. "I'm fine." I stated, "You sure buddy? Your fists are clenched pretty tightly." Lloyd said, motioning towards my hands as he walked back over to us. I looked down at my hands., they were shaking from how tight my fists were.

"How was your day Cole?"

"It was great Mom!"

"That's nice sweety"

"Cole?" I shook my head, snapping out of my trance. "The energy here..." I started without thinking. I looked up, meeting Lloyds eyes., trying to not let the mass wave of emotions get to me as I took a deep breath "Its similar to the feelings I felt when my mother died."
