Eight

Jungkook

Jin never woke up while I was with him, the orderlies came and prepared him for surgery then rolled him out of the room, "the doctor will be here in a second to explain what will happen." I nod and start to pace the room, Hoseok and Jimin walk in and hug me, I can't help but to break down in their arms, "he's going to be alright Jungkook." 

"How do you know", I sob. "I know because I know him, he is strong and he loves you with a fierceness I have never seen before, the light that you put in his eyes is not something that is seen everyday", Jimin says.

We sit on the couch and wait, Hoseok is asleep while Jimin and I just sit in silence, a couple hours later the door opens and they wheel Seokjin back in, I go to him, pushing the hair off his forehead as the nurse attaches him to tubes and wires, I grab his hand and kiss it and after the nurse walks out I lift his hospital gown and kiss his beautiful stomach, "hi baby, its daddy, thank you for being there with appa when I couldn't be." I press my lips to his forehead, keeping them there while I let the tears fall.

The doctor walks in with his clipboard, he checks the monitors and the IV bag, "see this." He points to the monitor, "this is Jin's heartbeat, it's much stronger now, this one here is the baby's heartbeat, also very strong, the operation was a success, he should live a normal life for many years, but there may come time that the pacemaker won't be enough, but let's cross that bridge when we come to it." "When will he wake up", Jimin asks. "He can wake at anytime, now that his heart is pumping properly, he shouldn't be so tired and lethargic anymore", the doctor says placing the clipboard on the end of Jin's bed.

"Jungkook, maybe you should wait outside until Jimin and I can find out what he remembers and how he is feeling, if he is upset to see you, that may not be good", Hoseok says. "I agree, but promise me one thing, I get to tell him about the baby", I ask. They both nod, "we promise." "Thank you", I hug them both and head out to the waiting room with Yoongi, Namjoon, and Tae.

Seokjin

I think I am awake, but everything is dark, I hear beeping sounds, and people talking, I open my eyes to see machines all around me, I lift my head and Jimin and Hoseok are standing there, "hi guys." They both look at me in shock, "you are awake." They both hug me and help me sit up, "what happened." "What do you remember babe", Jimin asks. 

I immediately start to cry, looking at Hoseok, "he was hugging a woman when I went to his office, I remember running out and getting in the elevator, when I got outside, I couldn't breathe, I didn't feel good, a very nice man was there but that's the last thing I remember."

"Jinnie, I know you are upset", Hobi says wiping my tears, "but you need to listen to me." I nod and try to dry my tears, but the image of Jungkook hugging that woman so intimately wouldn't leave my mind, Hobi grabs for my hands, "you suffered heart failure Jin, the doctor had to operate and implant a pacemaker." 

"What, my heart, it was so broken I'm not surprised, he isn't even here by me, he's probably with her", I say holding back a sob. "He's in the waiting room babe, he's been here for the whole thing, he has some explaining to do, but please hear him out okay", Jimin says ruffling my hair. 

"We are going to let the nurse know you are awake and tell Jungkook to come in, is that okay", Hobi asks squeezing my hand. I slightly nod, afraid to see the man I love and the man that broke my heart, literally, they kissed my forehead and walked out of the room, a few moments later the nurse walks in, with Jungkook right behind her. 

I close my eyes tight until the nurse speaks, "are you in pain Seokjin." "Not really", I said looking at Jungkook. He looks down guiltily, "your vitals look really good, I am sure you are hungry, I will get the doctor and have something brought in for dinner."

Jungkook

After she walks out I step closer to the bed, "can I talk or do you want to rest first, I know you must be tired." "You broke my heart", he said in a whisper. "Seokjin, what you saw isn't what it looked like", I said in a soft voice. I dont want to get him upset, not after everything that has happened, the doctor walks in carrying a tray of food, "Seokjin, it's so good to see you awake." "Doctor can I speak to you a moment", I ask. We walk to the door and I quietly say, "he doesn't know about the baby, I want to tell him." The doctor nods and smiles, "of course."

"Jin, your operation was a success, we implanted a pacemaker into your heart, you suffered a major event causing your heart to beat out of rhythm and not being able to get blood to your body, with your history of heart problems it finally caught up to you and you were in the beginning stages of heart failure, but with the pacemaker, you should live a good long life", he says checking his vitals, "enjoy your dinner and I will check on you before I go off duty." He shakes my hand and pats Jin's and leaves the room, "let's get you fed, you need your strength." 

I grab the knife and fork and cut his meat, picking up a piece to feed him, "why are you doing this, why are you even here, dont you have someone at home waiting for you." I sigh, "Baby, I only have you, you have been to my home, does anyone else live there with me, I am here because I love you and only you, I am here to take care of my family." 

He takes the food off the fork and chews, then it hits him, "family, what do you mean." I place my hand on his stomach, "my family, our family." Tears fall from his eyes and he places his hand over mine", yes love, our baby, I had to give the doctor permission to operate on you, that's when he told me, look that's his heartbeat there next to yours."

He starts to cry harder when he looks at the monitor, I pull him toward me and hold him till he calms, then he pulls away, "its my baby, till you tell me the truth about that woman and who she is"
