Light and dark,
Morning and night,
Her head was filled with thoughts of him.

She tried to hide her feelings away,
But se could not stay away.
He, however, did not feel the same.
He looked the other way every time she looked his way.

She was the moon who chased after the sun,
Always behind.
All she ever was, was a shadow,
His shallow shadow .

She ran and ran after him,
Day in and day out.
The times he turned to look her way,
Like a beggar she took the crumbs.

He did not now,
Nor did he care,
All the effort she put for him.
But one day,
She said enough.
She finally remembered who she was.

She had forgotten her self respect.
She forgot a king was after her own heart.
But Love had made her blind.
It made her dumb.
It made her forget who she really was.

She was naive.
She had never been in love.
She did not know he was not to blame.
Her feelings were her own to bear.
She had tried to love without knowing what love entailed.
So now she had to deal with when it went stale.
She chased after it, not knowing what came next.
She was careless.

She grew tired of his indifference.
And much more of her needy behavior.
The once distinguished-calm-collected princess,
Was now a beggar.
She had become a slave to what seemed like a fruitless feeling.

Her head was overheated with thoughts of him.
There was nothing she could do where he would not appear.
Her life seemed to have no meaning without him.

And so she was awaken.
How did it come to this?
From a princess to a slave.
She had to say goodbye.
When she did, all he said was, "alright".
With that she turned away,
to start anew.
She tried to not look back because she knew,
If she did, she would never be able to leave.

Now, she would take her time to figure it all out.
To find herself,
whom she forsook as she chased after him.
She  finally stopped running after one who did not care.
She finally remembered the kingdom she had worked so hard to build.
She once again remember all she had left for him.

At last she turned,
Though it took all her strength.
She turned back to the king who was always beside her .
He wiped her tears and singed to her.
He gave her all the attention she had sought before.
How blind she had been to place someone as her god,
When she had the one all along.

+++++𝓐𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓻𝓼' 𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮:
No one has ever finished life and experienced it all to tell us how to deal with it. So when it comes to love we are bound to get hurt. Many of us, like myself, might be terrified of this. Unfortunately, no matter how much you fight against it, it is bound to afflict you. But pain goes both ways, both he and her are always bound to get hurt. Either for unrequited love, misunderstandings, or loving too much. So, whether you fight against it (trying not to fall in love) or go into it willingly, know you will suffer.
That is not the moral however. The teaching is this: Do not ever chase like a beggar after someone who does not care. Do not bend and break, you or your morals for someone else. First know yourself then know what love is. What does it all mean. What does it entail. This way both of you will not hurt each other, at least not without a greater purpose...Do not blindly follow feelings. A brain ought to be promptly used.
