*Actions*Rory POV
I've been walking through these woods for about an hour now and as much as I wanted to avoid people, even I was smart enough to avoid these woods at night. There are pretty strong monsters out here and I don't have enough magic to be able to do much of anything if I come across one of the more dangerous monsters here. So, even if I hated it with every fiber of my being, I knew that I didn't have much of a choice but to find a town, or maybe an Inn or something like that. Hopefully there would be one nearby, but given how long I've been walking I doubt it. I haven't seen another living person out here in these woods since that bandit tried to rob me, but I still remember how that ended. One of the reasons that Iade the rule for myself, trust no one. Out here you can only trust your own instincts and survive any way you can. That's just how things are, and always have been.
At least....that's how it's been for me ever since mommy and daddy were gone. I still miss them a lot and whenever I think about it, I just wanna ball up on the ground and cry. But that's not what they would want from me, I know that. They would've wanted me to be happy and to live. So I can't give up. Not now, not ever. I made a promise to them that I would never give up before they died. And I always keep a promise. No matter how hard things get. I felt a little tear go down my face fir a second before I wiped it away with my sleeve. I guess I was too busy thinking to notice it at first. *sigh* I can't keep thinking about it right now, so I did the only thing I could do to keep my mind off of everything. I just kept walking, hoping that I'd get lucky and at least find somewhere that I would be safe for the night. I had no idea that I would be getting what I wanted. Just not in the way that I wanted or hoped it would be.
Maci POV
Ahh, the Dog Knights have done it again! We just got off another quest earlier today, had to deal with some bandits that stayed hidden in the forest and robbed whoever they managed to pass by. We handled most of them and handed them in to the authorities, and we even got paid a decent price! Ten gold for every one that managed to capture! There was one of them that happened to get away, but if we see him around we'll make sure that we get him this time! I doubt we will though since the last time we saw him he was running scared. He was lucky that we couldn't find him in these woods. He only got away because we were all busy dealing with his buddies to be able to catch him, but hey overall I have nothing to complain about! We stopped some bad guys, got paid pretty well for doing it, and now we can finally come home and relax for the night!
Rori was doing what she usually did after a mission and doing some training by practicing her combat skills on a training dummy that she bought, Jeane and Nix were both enjoying a nice meal by the fire, Orinette was reading one of her spell books, Celia was buying herself with a book aswell, only it was something about healing and defensive magic, and I was lying down in a cozy little hammock, enjoying myself as I looked up at the stary night sky above. The view was beautiful, especially since there wasn't even a single cloud in the sky. I could feel the gentle breeze on my face and the sounds of the leaves rustling in the wind was so relaxing. Usually I'm so hyperactive and chaotic, but even I like to sit down and relax every once in a while.
Maci: "Aaaah, it feels nice to just relax and unwind after a day of questing."
Nix smiled and looked at me as she finished a bite of her food.
Nix: "Got that right Maci. I love going on quests, helping people, getting paid, and coming back home for some good R&R."
Jeane giggled to herself.
Jeane: "I'm just happy that we got to help others today."
Maci: "That too Jeane. I'm just happy that we all get to relax."
