"Anna, this is a very serious meeting and I need you to be on your best behavior okay?" Madam Red ordered as I nodded obediently.
"Yes mother, I promise." She gave me a smile and handed me my blood red shoes.
Even before I met my mother I've always been drawn to the color red, it's a beautiful color and for some reason I feel oddly close to it.
Whenever I look at my red flames I always feel nostalgic, as if the color red was connected to my unknown past.
Placing my shoes on I entered the carriage with the thought of having to see our new butler Grell, who was currently at the Phantomhive manor in hopes of actually learning something and not being a complete useless idiot.
Grell was a strange specimen, in all my years- well, um, year I mean, I've never met someone so clumsy. Almost like he's faking all of his gracelessness, like an act.
I can't explain why I feel compelled to stay away from him, or the reason why his presence gives off the wrong aura.
Though I guess that must mean I just dislike him and why mother decides to keep him is not exactly my concern.
I stuffed my hand in my pocket and took out 5 red, glass marbles and rolled them in my hand.
These marbles were said to be in my possession when the hospital found me, thinking that these marbles could be related to my past I kept them.
"Anna, honey, we're here." I looked up and met the ruby orbs of my foster mother.
I sighed and placed the glass spheres in my dress pocket before walking out of the carriage first.
"Are you sure we're allowed to be here mother? This is, after all, property of the Phantomhives."
She smiled and waved her hand, "Nonsense of course I can be here. I am his favorite aunt after all." She took my hand and led the two of us inside the large house.
As we walked upstairs and opened the first door on the right I couldn't help but feel as if someone was already there.
"Ah Lau you're here already?" A strange Chinese man gave us a small closed eyed smile.
"Ah Madam Red, good afternoon." He looked down at me, his smile never leaving, "And who might this young rose be?" He walked closer to me and crouched to my level so we were eye to eye.
Whoever this man was, like everyone else I seemed to meet, he was weird.
"This is my daughter, Anna. Anna, meet Lau, a...coworker of mine in a way."
He held out his hand for me to shake, reluctantly I grabbed it and immediately squeezed tightly.
He yelped in pain while I emotionlessly squeezed harder, not trusting the green clad man in front of me.
With a seemingly broken hand and a nervous chuckle Lau retreated and our hand shake was over and done with, thank goodness, as the two adults then attempted to look for the contents of tea.
As they did so I boredly sat on the couch and used my marbles to keep me occupied.
The door opened and when I looked through the glass of my marble I gasped when I saw the aura surrounding one of the two men that walked in.
Just who was this man and why did he have such a peculiar aura?
