𝐖hile following Kiara through her family's restaurant, aiming for the docks out back, Marlowe finds herself offering every single person they pass a cheeky grin.

Because, now, there's happiness and contentment in everything. After the discovery of John B and Sarah's existence, her world has brightened in every aspect, as though experiencing the world through a new, highly saturated lens.

Her best friend is alive. Breathing.

And they're on a mission; to clear his name.

Once reaching the dock, Marlowe climbs to sit on the backrest of the bench.

JJ slides his backpack off his shoulder, tossing it to the ground. He sinks down in the seat next to where she's planted her feet. His elbow comes up to casually rest on her bended knee as he sits a level lower than her.

And Marlowe doesn't mind — in fact, she finds his close presence oddly comfortable.

"So, we're going to the Bahamas, or what?" the boy expresses.

"With what passport?" the brunette snickers, nudging his side with her leg. She lets her voice sink a few octaves too low in an attempt to imitate his voice. "That's like the Kook-iest thing ever."

JJ rolls his eyes, squinting up at her. "That was, like, the worst impression I've ever witnessed in my life."

Marlowe raises her eyebrows, amused, the smile still dancing on her lips. "I thought it was pretty accurate," she shrugs teasingly.

The blond opens his mouth, forming a defensive retort.

"A little focus would be great, guys," Pope cuts in, peering expectantly between the two. "There's no way we're getting to the Bahamas."

"Look, John B will get nabbed sooner or later," Kiara speaks up, a tinge of worry in her voice. "If we're gonna clear his name, we need to have done it, like, yesterday."

"I'll tell you how we do it," JJ chimes confidently.

"Oh, so, you have it all planned out?"

"As a matter of fact, I do..." he nods, intentionally ignoring their evident skepticism. "We kidnap Rafe."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"We kidnap Rafe, tie him up, and..."

Marlowe tunes out as Pope and Kiara voice their disapproval of JJ's poor excuse for a plan. Her eyebrows are knitted, and she chews her bottom lip, mind forming something on the verge of an idea.

"Yeah, so how exactly do you plan on clearing John B's name from a prison cell?" Pope deadpans, rubbing his hands together. "Because that's a felony."

"Alright, well, what do you got, Pope?" JJ defends, still thinking his strategy could work in their favor. "I was just tryin' to keep it simple. You know, one stop, and we're done."
