I arrived at the top of this grand hall were the balcony sat. It's usually where Viserys would stand to make a speech or toast with the rest of his family. There were a lot of stairs just to get down to the main area. I was lucky the ball hadn't started yet and It was just Viserys, Daemon and Aegon present. Why you ask? Well... I had to take off my shoes. I wouldn't want to do that in front of hundreds of people in a million years. I started to walk down the stairs barefoot holding my high heels in both hands. "So good to see Y/N again," Daemon laughed seeing me walk down the stairs and over to them. "Should we get you high heel lessons Y/N?" Viserys joked. "Very funny Viserys," I laughed placing the shoes back onto my feet. "You seem to have grown to. Sorry no that was your hair," I tried to joke which luckily the three brothers found funny. "Yep! Yes, still good old Daemon," Aegon nodded. "The guests will be let in very soon," Viserys let us know, "So make sure everyone gets down here." We all nodded and Viserys left the room. "Please can you guys go," I turned round once he had left, "I cannot be bothered to go up and down those stairs again in these." I then lifted one of my legs and pulled back my dress so they could see my shoes. "Fine," Daemon and Aegon sighed going to leave the room. "Thank you," I put my hands together with gratitude. I went to get a drink and we waited for the guests.

This type of ball was different to others. A traditional Targaryen ball would have the Royals sat at either the first or second long table at either side of the room. I sat on the right side, and I saw Viserys, Daemon, Aegon and Aemond sat together on their table. They were all talking, and I could see Aemond was trying his best to be friendly and not his usual grumpy self. We got to watch all the guests dance their hearts out and the majority being with their partners. I wish I had someone to share it with. After a while the butlers came round pouring wine into our goblets. I looked over and saw Aemond raising his goblet towards me. I then lifted mine. I took my slate plate and wrote a message on it. "Is that your I owe you used?" I wrote. Aemond grabbed his and replied, "No!" We both laughed and put our plates down. Once one of the dances had finished, I decided I wanted to join. I walked across the dance floor and people parted for me. It felt weird. I hadn't felt that since my own family's balls. I made it to the other long table where the Targaryen men sat. I put my arms on the table in front of Aemond and smiled. "So Aemond? How do you feel about dancing?" I asked. "I'm not greatly fond of it," Aemond shrugged trying not to be rude. "Well, I don't think your uncle is wanting to stand in for me again. He will probably want to dance with Rhaenyra," I pointed out, "Am I right Daemon?" "Yes indeed!" Daemon stood up from his chair to go to the dance floor. "So?" I faced Aemond again. "I will gladly dance with you Y/N," Aemond stood up and swung his legs over the table to make it to the other side. He gently took my hand and together we walked to the middle of the room to dance. His hands were soft. I expected them to be rough with scratches from all the fights he's been in. I guess not. He brought me round to face him and placed a hand on my hip. Then I placed a hand on his shoulder. Then we started to dance to the slow calming music. "When was the last time you had danced besides with my uncle?" Aemond asked. "Long ago with my husband," I answered, "Before he died in the explosion. It was our wedding night." "Oh, I'm sorry," Aemond frowned. "It's okay," I shook my head, "I only met him that day. I didn't really like him." "Well at least you weren't sad," Aemond smiled. "It was reliving in some sense," I told him, "Have I ever fully told you about that night?" "No," Aemond shook his head, "But how about we save that for later?" "Good idea," I nodded.

Once all the guests had left it was quiet asever. I a lot of the others who lived in this castle had gone to bed. I stayedin the hall for a while just looking at the dragons in all their glory flyingaround the sky. But then I wanted to leave so I went over to the stairs Istarted to lift my leg to take off one of my shoes- "What do you think you'redoing?" I heard Aemond behind me. "Taking off my shoes so I canactually leave without cracking my skull," I placed my foot on the floor."How about I just carry you?" Aemond suggested. "Wouldyou?" I lifted my eyebrows. "Ye!" Aemond nodded."Okay!" I nodded. Aemond walked over and whisked me off my feet inone swift motion. That surprised me considering how big my dress was. Aemondwalked me up the stairs with no problem at all. I guess he was stronger than Ithought. Once we made it to the top, he put me down but then we walked togetherto our rooms. It was dark but we didn't have a single candle on us. "Thankyou once again," I smiled at him when we made it to my door. "You'rewelcome," He smiled back laughing, "You really do like to say thank you, don't you?" "I can't help it," I shrugged, "I'm a lovingkind person." "Well... goodnight," Aemond started to walk overto his door. "Goodnight," I repeated and closed my door. I leanedagainst my door thinking. I obviously like him. He probably doesn't like methough. A million thoughts were just running through my head. In and out like abullet. I closed my eyes trying to tell myself to calm down. I heard a knock atthe door and my eyes flew open once again. I stood up properly and opened thedoor. "Aemond?" I looked at the man confused. He didn't speak anotherword. He walked over to me and pulled me into a kiss. I placed my hands on hisneck deepening the kiss. When we pulled away for air I started to speak,"Aemond-" "Just be quiet," He stopped me. "Okay,"I nodded and pulled him back into the kiss.
