Ty let out a small sigh. “We had a mission.” He stated as the two walked up the driveway to the lookout. Zach growled a bit before snapping at Ty.
“I KNOW WHAT THE MISSION WAS!!!” He snapped, his anger getting the best of him. They both suddenly went very quiet before Zach took a deep breath in and out. “I know what the mission was, Ty, but you didn’t see what I saw. Something about it wasn’t right. Bringing her back felt wrong. I had to let her go.” Ty gave an understanding nod and decided not to press further. As they made their way to the Lookout, Zach went and sat under a nearby tree as Ty went inside. After a while, Zuma walked out and saw him under the tree and walked over to Zach, and sat with him. Zuma gently nudged Zach and Zach looked over at him.
“Hey dude, You look like there’s something on your mind,” Zuma said Zach laid his head down but didn’t speak and Zuma, refusing to give up, nudged him again. Zach ignored him this time, but Zuma got up and sat down right in front of him. Zach let out a defeated sigh and sat up, looking down at the lab.
“It’s nothing, just a small argument with Ty,” Zach said dismissively before moving to face away from Zuma and laying back down. Zuma got up and walked back into Zach’s line of sight. Zach sighed as he finally looked at Zuma. “Fine, but if I tell you, you’re not allowed to share it with anyone here. Alright.” Zuma nodded softly and Zach looked around before speaking softly.“I let that snow leopard go. The female one.” Zach said. “When I was chasing her I caught her but the way she looked up at me, it’s like she was…terrified of going back.” Zach began to paw at the ground as he spoke. “I’ve lived my life in a cage before, and I couldn’t be the reason she went back, so I let her go.” Zach slumped back down with an exhausted sigh. “You can criticize me if you want, but I don’t regret what I did.” Zuma nodded softly and stretched a bit.
“I get what you mean,” Zuma said, yawning a bit. “You felt that taking her back was wwong, so you let her go. There’s no reason to be upset over it. We all do things we believe are wight, and sometimes others disagree. Doesn’t make what we did wwong, it just shows not evewyone agwees on the same thing. Not even best fwiends.” Zach stared at the lab, a bit baffled.
“Aren't you a little young to be spitting words of the wise?” Zach asked sarcastically. Zuma laughed a little before laying down in the shade of the tree not too far from Zach.
“Aren’t you a little young to be as big as you are?” Zuma retorted. Zach let out a wry chuckle as he stretched and yawned.
“Touché.” He said in a hushed voice before laying down. “Touché.”
Ty was sitting in a bean bag with a small screwdriver, fiddling with a new arrow he’d been working on. A small zap sound comes from the little phone-like device as Ty lets out an exasperated sigh. “For Olympus’ sake.” He muttered as Ryder slowly came into the room. Ryder saw Ty messing with the small device and walked over to him.
“So, what are you fiddling with?” Ryder asked, causing the teen to jump.
“SWEET POSEIDON’S SEAS!!!” He screamed. Ryder stepped back and held up his hands.
“S-Sorry,” Ryder said with a nervous laugh. TY let out a soft sigh before coughing nervously, his face a little red from his outburst.
“It’s alright, I just didn’t see you there,” Ty said, scratching the back of his head. The two sat there in an awkward hush before Ryder spoke, breaking the small silence.
“So, what are you working on?” Ryder asked. Ty sighed and put the small screwdriver away and held the device in both his hands.
“May I?” Ryder said Ty handed Ryder the device and laid back in the bean bag and stared at the ceiling as Ryder began to work on the gadget.
