Ari's POV
The sound of my phone beeping woke me up from one of the best dreams I've ever had. I tried reaching for the phone on the table, but Demitri was holding me so tightly in his arms, it was hard for me to move without waking him.
I wriggled my way out of his grip, causing him to turn on his side facing away from me.
When I got the phone I saw that it was Carriesha blowing me up. I got out of bed to talk to her in the bathroom.
"Carri, a wah?" I asked.
Her background was noisy and she was arguing with someone.
"Ari weh you deh? Me and gyal just done fight outside a taboo" She said.
Jesus, not this right now.
"I'm at Demitri's but I can come to you now, let me get ready" I said.
"Guh suck you mumma stinking gyal, come mek mi buss yuh face again bitch... no run up... aye gyal..."
The call got disconnected. I quickly called my driver and told him to meet me downstairs as soon as he could.
I wasn't ready to leave Demitri but I had to help Carriesha because she would come to my rescue if I should call upon her.
I had to be careful how I wake Demitri because he has really bad nightmares. There were times I had to hold him so close to me until he calmed down.
"Demitri" I whispered his name so I didn't frighten him from his sleep.
"Yes Mi.. yes my love" He said.
"I have to go, I have an emergency" I told him.
He got up quickly. "Is everything ok, I could come with you" He said.
Oh how I wish it was this simple.
"No it's just a family matter with my mom and sisters, I will call you when I get home"
I gave him a kiss and he pulled me to him so he could hug me. This hug was a little longer than usual.
"I hope I can see you tonight" He said.
"You will baby" I told him. I gave him another kiss.
I walked out of the apartment with a heavy heart, wishing I never had to leave him all the time. Wishing I could tell him the truth and he would still be in love with me.
The driver came just as I reached downstairs. "Taboo me aguh" I told him. We weren't far away from the club. I called Carri and she answered on the first ring.
"Yuh reach? them nuh wah let me guh." She said.
"Who?" I asked.
"So unuh call police then nuh or let me guh, nuh she fling the bottle.."
She was saying to someone.
"Carri, talk to me nuh man" I said to her but she was busy arguing with someone.
I hung the phone up because it made no sense. "Driver, yuh can call Chris and mek me talk to him?" I asked.
He quickly took his phone out and called Chris then handed me the phone.
"Chris, a Redz, Carri call you?" I asked him.
"No" he answered, he sounded as if he was sleeping.
"She's at Taboo and got caught up in a fight" I said.
"Look here nuh, sleep me a sleep, when she reach home me deal with she" He said then hung the phone up.
I gave the phone back to the driver. I could understand his frustration because Carri didn't take talk and she was hard to deal with.
