"Extra, extra! The crowning of Her Majesty Choi Yujin in a week's time! Extra, extra!"
A small town, only one amongst the many of the Choi Kingdom, buzzed with excitement as the newsboys' hollers were processed in their heads.
In a line piling outside the local bakery, a very animated conversation was taking place.
"Oh, Her Majesty will make a marvelous Queen, don't you think so?" A girl exclaims fondly to another of whom rolls her eyes, "God knows we need it." She mumbles moreso to herself with a disappointed shake of her head.
The former ignores her and instead leans backwards towards a blonde girl who had been looking off elsewhere the entire time.
"Daydreaming again, Yeseo?"
'Yeseo's eyes widen comically at the sudden call of her name. Meeting familiar, amused eyes, she calms down immediately, "You know me very well, Dani." She says with a small chuckle, mirroring amused eyes moreso directed towards herself.
Danielle only scoffs, "If that is considered knowing you well, then the entire village must be your closest friends." She begins to make exaggerated hand gestures, ones Yeseo can only try her hardest to understand. Danielle had always been a kind friend of hers, just quite...energetic as well.
As they advance in the line, Danielle continues, "The town's resident golden girl Kang Yeseo, known for walking into walls due to her daydreams...daydreaming?" She gasps mockingly, "How scandalous."
Yeseo only shoves her playfully, "That was one time, seriously."
The faint chatter of the bakery-goers echoes in the back of Yeseo's mind. The overlapping conversations combine to form a hug of some sorts, a hug that holds her tightly.
A sense of warmth washes over her as she looks over the setting with fond eyes.
She really does love this town. In spite of its small size, it truly makes up for it in personality.
"Yeesh, this line always takes forever." Danielle whines, as she looks to the front of the line.
In the front was an old lady, who slowly counted her change with shaky hands.
"This is the only bakery in town." Yeseo tries to reason, but Danielle seems intent on complaining. She doesn't blame her. It feels like they've been waiting for forever.
"Hello girls." The baker greets with a kind smile once they've finally reached the front of the line, something Danielle is visibly pleased with judging by the way a sigh of relief escapes her lips. He looks to Yeseo, "More cinnamon rolls I assume?"
"You know how Eunchae is." Yeseo replies with a playful roll of her eyes earning a bark of laughter.
