" Mr. Arias" Mr. Carson called out to the void that was the classroom. Keenan looked tiredly at the man that looked even more exhausted than him.

"Poor guy," Keenan thought.

"Yes, Mr. Carson" Keenan spoke roughly. "Did you listen to anything I just said" Keenan and the teacher stared at each other for what felt like an eternity but in reality had to be four seconds

They both knew the answer to that question.

"I- no sorry, I must have...", He paused knowing that lying would get him nowhere. "Mr. Arias just study the material I handed out", the teacher stated dismissively as he went back to the board to write the homework for the week.

Keenan to took a glance at the board to find anything interesting yet he found nothing.

He was a solid B+ student and he wanted to keep it that way even when his parents were on him about his grades he could not care less. With that thought still lingering in his mind the bell rang, some students left immediately, and others stood up and fixed their uniforms while talking to their friends who had the fakest of smiles on their faces.

Keenan slowly and lazily trudged out of the big classroom and walked down the marble stairs "Don't these pricks know that marble breaks easily", He thought as he glanced at the broken chunk of the fair marble. "Hey Kee," said a familiar voice behind him. He spun around at the voice to see the only friend he acquired in his three years at Gaurde Hence Academy, Courtney Jackson.

"Hey Court", he said relieving tension in his shoulders. "Why the sad puppy dog face" she spoke while jutting her bottom lip to replicate his face while they were headed towards the lunch room. " Just tired," he muttered even though he knew she saw right through the poorly executed excuse. " You know your dumbass can't lie to me," She said laughingly with one of her eyebrows quirked.

Keenan always loved when she'd do that.

'' I don't want to go to Mia's stupid party tonight", He admitted agitatedly"Like who the hell puts their party on a fucking Thursday", He spat with annoyance. Courtney looked at him with empathetic eyes '' Come on you have to go you are a Superior for Christ's sake'' She said in her whiny voice. "Also this will be my first party as a senior we have to go!'' She uttered with a whine.

" Fine'' Keenan winced begrudgingly

''You're the best ever'' She beamed, teeth on full display as they open the cafeteria door. They walk in and almost immediately everybody has their eyes glued on Keenan as they make their way to their designated lunch table.

"The Superior has arrived" she nudged him jokingly.

He didn't laugh very much

As they sat down he slightly nodded at the other Superiors acknowledging them and their plus ones. He scanned them all out of boredom.

His eyes first landed on Mia Milan, The It Girl
Then, too Hazel Kent, looking at her signature long black hair, The Enchanter
On too Evan Mathews with his girlfriend that he doesn't seem to be looking at, The Jock
Following Evan's scowling line of sight we find Everett James having a seemingly pointless conversation with a girl, The Pretty Boy.

That said girl is Aaliyah Taylor, and if Keenan thinks back he remembers seeing her with Mia or maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him, either way he doesn't care, The Quiet Girl

Finally we have the resident bad boy Blake Carter. Keenan noticed he was sneaking glances at him or maybe it was toward Courtney, but who knows.

The Superiors that's the name they were given due to their parents wealth. If you were to ask anyone of them about the tittle they would say it was a load of crap, but since their tittle was passed down to them by their parents and grand parents the tittle is stuck on the like the gum on Mia's purse-

He was smacked out of his thoughts by an ear piercing squeal from Mia "Derek, you got gum on my new Birkin" she whined to her meat head boyfriend of the week, Derek is his name if Keenan remembered correctly but then again, he did not care.

"Sorry baby" The no name Jock said like a little lost puppy.

"Ew" Keenan thought.

She put a fake smile on her face with her new veneers " It's ok sweets, daddy will buy me a new one" she said as he pinched his cheek like a grandmother during the holidays.

"Ew" Keenan and Hazel said in unison and the whole table giggled slightly.

"Oh shut up man eater" Mia spat at Hazel. "Last time I checked that's a compliment" Hazel said pointedly, Courtney and Aaliyah nodded in agreement. "Whatever" Mia stated with an eye roll. "Anyway you guys are attending my party right?" She asked.

She already knew the answer.

"I don't think we really have a choice" Everett spoke.

Everett always said what everyone was thinking.

Always.

"Perfect ok well the bell is about to ring" Mia lied the bell word ring in another 7 minutes. "And you guys are boing me to death so me and David are leaving" Mia announced standing up with her boyfriend "My name is Derek" he said with a hint of disappointment.

"Poor guy thinks he is special, pitiful" Keenan thought

She looked at him with not a lick of shame or embarrassment  "Sorry baby, I will make it up to you in the bathroom" she winked then walked off. He followed her like a little golden retriever with not a thought behind his pretty blue eyes.

Pathetic.

"He'll be gone in a week" Hazel said laughingly. "A week?" Blake said one thick eyebrow raised " Give or take three days" he said a light smirk playing on his lips. The table burst into a fit of laughter that caused neighboring tables to give them side glances. Keenan noticed the look Evan gave Everett as Everett laughed along with the table.

Pure infatuation.

But as per usual Keenan shrugged it off. He didn't care. " I think we should get going, lunch is almost over and those stairs are hell on earth" Hazel said a smile still present on her full lips. "You're right let's get going" Courtney nudged Keenan as she stood, fixing her skirt.

He stands lazily and makes his away towards the doors with Courtney, eyes of fellow students trained on the two, or more accurately, Keenan . "See you after school?" She asked already knowing his answer to her otherwise rhetorical question. "See you after school" he replied with a slight smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
She smiled and waved at him before turning to go to her history class, he watched her leave his line of sight before throwing is head back in exhaustion.

"Tonight's going to be hell" he muttered to himself

That night, Keenan learned a very valuable lesson.
