"What's this rumor about you and Braedan splitting up?" Melody asks. I close my locker door slightly to see her looking at me with wet eyes. I set my purse in my locker, take out my cheer bag and close it. I turn and face her.

"Yeah. We decided to take a break." I say, rubbing my arm. I look to the ground, completely ashamed of myself. I look up at Melody. Her tears started to fall from her face.

"I'm sorry," She sniffles in her hands. She furiously rubs and the tears staining her cheeks, careful not to mess up her make-up. I close the distance between us and engulf her in a bear hug. She cries into my shoulder while I rub her back to soothe her.

"I should be the one to comfort you. Instead I'm crying like a little bitch." She snorts to keep snot from dripping.

"You're so unattractive when you cry." I chuckle. She snorts again and laughs softly.

"I'm sorry. It must be harder on you than it is on me. Im so selfish." She wipes her tears away on her sleeve. I chuckle and lead her to the bathroom to help her. I grab make-up wipes and pat at the smeared make-up. After it's cleaned up, I hand Melody my eyeliner pencil.

"Thanks babe." She croaks. She begins to make a wing on her eyelid. I nod and begin to touch up my own make-up. I put on extra today to cover up my puffy, red eyes and cheeks. I don't need to come to school looking like shit again.

After we freshen up, we head to the gym for cheer practice. I notice as we walk that in the hallway was Braedan and some other friends. They point in my direction and laugh. I grip my cheer bag tighter and walk directly to them.

"Hi guys," I wave at them. They exchange glances before they smirk at me.

"How's it goin'?" I smile awkwardly at them. I feel Melody tense up at my side.

"I don't know, Rachelle. Why don't you tell us?" One of the girls, Naeli, steps up. She glares at me and sneers. I feel the atmosphere grow tense.

"Uh, nothing is up." I scoot a little back. I feel my back hit against something solid. I turn around to find Zeke, one of the football players. He looks down at me and smiles sinisterly.

"So Rachelle," Naeli says again. The group comes in closer. I hear Melody yell near me, but she is being pulled away by a large football player.

I feel my hair beinh yanked up as I'm being lifted by my hair. I grab it and struggle to get free, but I feel a sharp pain spread to my knee. I fall to the ground and grab my leg in pain.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I hear Melody scream. I see a group of people gather around to spectate. They smile and send me dirty looks as they laugh or talk bad about me.

"So gross."

"Hermaphrodite. "

"Weird."

"Faggot."

"Queer."

I slowly try to stand up, only to be kicked in the stomach. I fall to the ground and cry. My face on the cold, tile floor.

"Listen here Faggot Fairy," Naeli gets closer to my face and hisses in my face.

"We don't want YOUR kind here. You're disgusting and a piece of shit. You don't deserve to live. Stay away from us."

She lifts back up and cackles with the rest of the spectators. Zeke spits in my face.

I slowly stand up and look around myself. The world seems to be spinning. I feel my knees shake and my stomach do flip flops.
