On the third day of your newfound life, you suspiciously eyed your phone with an unknown number ringing you up, there was no way to tell who it could have been. You had already ruled your parents out and it's not like anyone knew you were missing, your parents had probably already covered up your disappearance with the usual went aboard shit just to save face from their embarrassing daughter.

You couldn't keep ignoring the call, and what was the worst that could happen? You sighed and swiped your screen to accept the call before putting it to your ear.

"Oh, thank goodness you finally answered, I was so worried."

That voice. . . you recognised it anywhere. Your maid had somehow smuggled in a burner phone. Castle rules were strict, the servants weren't allowed personal phones, and all palace phones were registered under the royal family which also meant the phones were under serious surveillance. Luckily, no one catches her, or she would be arrested. Palace rules sucked.

A smile spread across your face, she had taken this risk for me. "I'm sorry, but I just couldn't."

"So it's true? You ran away?"

You nodded, then realized she couldn't see you. "Yes."

"No need to apologize, sure the palace is an even bigger hell with you gone but I can live with that as long as you are happy." You exhaled and rested your head against your bed. If only those words could come from your mother. "How are you doing dear, where are you staying? Are you eating well? I have a lot of questions."

A grin broke on your face. You both were only a year apart but she spoilt you way too much and treated you like her little sister.

"Yeah, I am in a nice place and eating well."

Osamu's cooking was no doubt mind-blowing. Earlier you had been so tense when you sat with them for dinner and when you meant them, Kenma wasn't included. You got to learn something new about him, he never left his room and yet hadn't he once, to see you.

At dinner, you couldn't help the feeling that something was up but couldn't figure out what it was. The quiet dinner wasn't exactly awkward but unspoken words were going around which it seemed only you failed to understand and that had you spying at the boys from under your lashes. When you got too hungry to keep up with your mind, the sweet aroma of the food drew your attention and you let yourself get drawn.

Your thoughts flew with a single bite. No fancy food from all the highly trained chiefs in the palace could compare, how did you live so long without his food, and now you were sure there was no coming back from it.

You asked, "How is everything over there?"

"Do you want the truth or. . ."

"The truth." you prompted.

"Not so good, the King has forbidden anyone from speaking about you and they want to proceed with the announcement. For the Queen, even a pin drop sets her off. Everyone's walking on eggshells around her especially me."

You cleared your throat. "She is probably out to get you, I should have thought about you before I left like that." You rubbed your temples. "I got a text from her, she just wants me to come back so they can use me."

"It's okay, coffee queen. Just do you and don't you dare think of anyone else, your selfless heart has to go or you will."

The nickname brought back fun memories, you had teased her for making horrible coffee and she'd challenged you but your coffee was simply unbeatable. In your secret contest, all the palace staff preferred your coffee and since then you won the title of coffee queen, which of course you could never use in front of the royals.
