BEEP BEEP BEEP

A loud groan escaped my lips upon hearing the annoying sound of my phone go off. Yes, I know what you might be thinking how does a poor girl have a phone? Well this phone is an iPhone second generation, so yeah it is pretty old but I had it before my mom and dad divorced so I got to keep it all this time. And no, I don't have enough money to pay for the phone bill every month so I just use the phone as a music player, alarm clock, and to play the occasional game. Nothing special, but it's better than nothing-

BEEP BEEP BEEP

I groaned again hitting the 'snooze' button on my phone, practically rolling out of bed and making my way to the very small bathroom down the hall. As I was walking, I stretched my aching back, sleeping on a crap mattress as hard as a rock isn't the ideal image that pops into your mind when you think of luxury sleeping, but let's get real; my life is anything but luxury. When I got to the bathroom I did my normal morning stuff which consisted of, using the toilet, brushing my teeth, and brushing my hair. Since I didn't have enough money to pay for water I didn't take showers every morning, I took them about every 2 or 3 days. I walked back to my room and went to the sorry excuse for a dresser I have in my room and chose a pair of old ripped up short-shorts and a simple red tank top, again, nothing special. I changed, wore a very old pair of black vans, and but my hair into a simple ponytail.

I walked down stairs and to my not-so-surprise my dad was nowhere to be seen, what's new? He's usually up at around 6am, goes to work and then comes back at like 12pm, but that's what he has to do if he wants to keep us both living. Knowing every well that there wouldn't be any food in the kitchen I decided to just take a walk outside and not dwell over the fact that my life is more or less at rock bottom.

Well at least you have a roof over your head and a father that loves you, you ungrateful shit.

A little voice in my head whispered and I sighed. The voice is right there will always be people worst then me and the best thing that I can do I keep my head held high and hope for the best. With that little reminder in my head I walked out my door, making sure to lock it, we could do without having the little that we have now be stolen, and made my way down the sidewalk.

While I was walking, the sun came out, making the sunray's shine on something grabbing my attention. I followed the shining light and came across a coin, a tonnie. Now to some people a tonnie would mean a trip to Tim Horton's to buy themselves a nice donut or something but to me it means eating breakfast for the first time in almost three months. But now was not the time to be selfish it was a time to choose, use the money on breakfast, or save it for my dad. All of a sudden, my stomach made a grumbling sound and from there it was decided, I would use the money on breakfast. I quickly scurried off to the convenience store down the street in search for something to eat. When I got in the store my eyes roamed the many isles trying to decide on what to buy, when I finally just picked a Nestea and a bag of Doritos. Considering that was my favourite snack when I was little, and walked up to the line for the cashier, patiently waiting my turn. Although, I couldn't shake the fact that someone's eyes were on me....
