Paying for My Sins

The cold envelops me in its tight embrace.
As I look into the Ice to see the reflection of my face.
Wondering why I was put on this earth.
All I do is cause so much unimaginable hurt.

The lives I've taken rest in my mind.
I've taken life from the evil and even the kind.
Why do I take these lives if it causes me pain?
You see if I don’t, I will surely be drained.

Their lives are strong and give me power.
I take their bodies to the top of my tower.
There I suck their happiness, sadness, and joy.
Then in the end their bodies I brutally destroy.

I wish I could stop and just be friends.
There’s no way after what I've done, I can make amends
I hear them coming as they bust down my door.
They're here to end my life and watch as I fall to the floor.

They finally get in and stare with hate in their eyes.
Sadly they don’t know they’re about to be in for a surprise.
I pick up the ice shard to dig into my skin.
I smile because I know I will be paying for all my sins.
