Stepping Inside The Unknown

Untitled Part 13

It gets a little while after we started walking together. The tension was thicc! Any third person could easily tell the dysfunctionality of our group. It was clearly evident with Autumn and I walking together on the left and Irene walking alone on the extreme right. (Play the OST now)

I roll my eyes before saying "You know you can walk with us right? We might be hot b*tches but we don't bite!"

She narrows her eyes at me before saying "Even if you did, you could only bite air." She replies.

Not this again! I sigh, a long one at that!

"You know, you could have discreetly followed us to La Lune Violette without trading any sort of information. You could have just secretly tailed us. I am genuinely curious about why you did not do that?" I give her a side glance and ask.

"Precisely because I am a person of principles! I don't take favours and I hate to owe people."

"Booooooo!" I nonchalantly boo at her. She gives me a sharp glare in return.

"See, it's virtuous having principles but we live in a world where society is cunning and shrewd, in my opinion, nobody gives two f*cks about one's principles. You only said how we are supposed to be wary of people from Earth and yet you trusted us so easily. What if we are actually leading you the wrong way, you haven't even looked at the map once!" 

"You are not doing that."

"Or are we?" I smirk and then look at her.

"You know nothing about us other than how we came here, our intentions, our personalities, our strengths, you know none of it. We could well be leading you to dispose of you somewhere."

"If that really were the case, you wouldn't be telling me all that."

"And cause we want you to think egg-xactly that is why we are telling you." I finish.

She furrows her brows and stands still, her stance getting rigid.

"What are your intentions, tell me right now." She demands.

I boredly look at her before laughing a little.

"See, I got you! Gosh, look at yo' face!" (Stop the OST now)

"What is the deal with you?" Irene asks irritatedly. I am getting on her nerves? Good. She doesn't like taking favours right? Well so do I, at least the ones I didn't ask for and now I will be returning her the  favour of pushing me to the edge!

"Now, both of you, stop! I am starting to feel a headache coming on!"Autumn interrupts.

"Oh, so you are the peacemaker of the group, now?" Irene looks at her scornfully.

"Well someone has to act responsibly between two immature teenagers who just can't keep their crude remarks to themselves!" Autumn replies sassily. Buurrnnn!

"Also, Irene, you can walk with us. We have still got 2 days to reach there and God knows how I am supposed to keep my sanity till then if you two don't stop fighting! Please try to get along for just this while. After we reach there, we go our own ways and hopefully never see each other." She finishes.

"I am pretty ecstatic about the last part but I think you have got a point," Irene says before coming over to us. She is always less hostile towards Autumn but towards me, she acts like I stole her boyfriend or something.

"So...." I start when Irene looks at me.

"You said you would tell us about anything we ask right?" I say.
