Chapter 4: Hanna

We sat around our favorite bench at Eddies Landing. This bench was the exact sport where we had all met. It was our senior year of high school. Amanda and I were enjoying our "self assigned" free period when we saw a girl come over and sit on the bench across from us. She had blond, almost white, hair that blew in the soft breeze and her eyes were so piercing blue I thought she was looking right into my soul.

"Uh, hey you go to Ridgewood right?" She said to us.

"Ya," Amanda replied, "your in my Bio class aren't you?"

"Yup," she said with a little smile. "I'm Kendra by the way."

"Hey Kendra, I'm Amanda and this is Hanna." She said with a wave.  We had been talking to Kendra for a few minutes when two girls came running down the dirt path kicking sand and dust up. Right behind them a third girl camly stroling behind them listening to an iPod. That's how we met Jamie and Samantha, it's also how we met the worst girl in the history of human beings. Kylie. She was the queen bee of our little high school and probably the bitchiest girl you've ever met. She was also my biggest secret crush since Amanda. Yes, I am lesbian. No one know it yet though. But anyway we ran up to the screaming match just as it started to get violent.

"Hey! We are trying to enjoy a smoke and the peace down here!" I yelled.  A girl with electric pink ear length hair and a lip piercing turned and faced me.

"Her fault man, she was being a total biotch." She stated

"I'm sure she was" I muddered. The girl with pink hair smirked at my comment.

"You seem cool," she said, "I'm Samantha and that back there is Jamie." She pointed to iPod girl.           "Cool. I'm Hanna and that's Amanda." I told her and nodded to Amanda.

"Hey Amanda. So I heard you say that you guys about to light up, mind if we join you?" She suggested pulling out a pack of Malbaros.

"Nah, go ahead." I told her. Jamie pulled out her earbuds and walked over to us. She took a cigarette from Samantha and light hers as well as ours.

"You guys are disgusting and killing yourselves!" Kylie screeched. "I'm leaving." She tossed her kinky brown hair behind her shoulder and stormed off.

"Till next time hoe bag" Samantha yelled to her. That was the first special moment we all shared at Eddies Landing. After that first day we started hanging out more and more until we became best friends and Eddies became our place.
