Alone by a river, Jenna sat on a patch of grass under the cover of a tree, shielding her from the heat of sun. She busied herself throwing pebbles that were scattered around her onto the water in front, seeing them bounce and sink as she enjoys the gentle breeze of the wind hitting her soft skin and blowing her golden hair a slight. Her ears were filled with the singing of birds above her as they flew about. The sky was clear and blue colored, mirroring her eyes. She sat in peaceful solitude, embracing the nature as she waited for someone. She wanted to talk and unclog her mind from the worry that had been haunting her for the past few days. It was not until quite a while that that someone came.
"Hey sweetheart," a rough and raspy yet calming voice called out from her right.
She looked and there he was. A man with his hair and beard covered in gray, along with a face full of wrinkles, sat on a piece of rock looking at her with a smile.
"You're late than usual, what kept you?" she asked in a joking manner.
The man rocked his head left and right. "Well, stuffs, I guess."
She chuckled and rolled her eyes to what he said. "It's not like you have anything to do anymore."
The man grinned as air escaped through his nose. "Yeah, you're right," he said while doing small nods. "So, anything you wanna share with me? Any good news or bad news?"
"Um, yeah actually, I've got plenty to tell you," she replied. "I mean, it has been a while since we're last here."
"Yeah, you didn't come back for some time, what's that all about?" he spoke in a mock-serious manner, teasing her.
She let out a chuckle and smiled sardonically at him. "Well, I'm sorry for having a busy life."
He opened his eyes wide to what he heard. "Oh, I didn't know you could be busy."
"Well." She paused for a brief second. "I'm busy now."
A smile formed in the man's face as he saw a joke opportunity. "If so, hi busy I'm dad." He burst out laughing the moment he finished that sentence.
She sighed a defeated sigh as she looked at him with a flat face. "Damn it dad, you and your jokes, you just can't stop can you?"
He tucked his lips in, doing his best to stop his laughter as small giggles escaped his mouth. "Yeah, I can't."
She tipped her head back and sighed more. "Can we get serious now, there are things that I wanna talk with you about."
He took a deep breath as he calmed down from his laughter. "Alright, I'm sorry."
She gave him a sharp look with her eyebrows raised. "Thank you." She paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "Anyway, do you remember the plan that I told you about the last time we were here?"
He gave nods to her question. "Yeah I do, what about it?"
A smile appeared on her face, washing off the flat look she was giving him. "Well, I actually get to do it." Her smile grew wider as she was feeling proud of herself.
Her infectious smile got to him and he smiled back at her, also feeling proud. "That's good," he said with thrill in his voice.
"But. . ." In a moment her smile faded away. She placed her gaze away from him. "I don't know if I should do it."
A confused and worried look fell to him. He tilted his head to the side a little while furrowing his eyebrows a tiny bit. "Why is that?"
"I just-" she began, taking a deep breath before continuing. "I don't wanna leave you, I'm not ready yet." She looked at him with squinted eyebrows, her sadness and worry clear in her gaze.
