Kol's POV

The baby vamps were experimenting with each other's powers - some were quite impressive. Zafrina, for instance, had power over the mind. My siblings and I were standing with Edward and his new wife as she showed us her home in the Amazon. Or attempted to. Edward looked around amazed whilst the rest of us were confused.

"If you weren't holding my hand right now, I could swear this was real." He said to Bella.
"I don't see anything." She told him. Sharing a look with my siblings I answered on our behalf "Neither do we."
"Your minds are to powerful to be corrupted. I can feel them pushing against me; like I don't belong there." The Amazonian explained. "However, I don't know why Bella can't see."

"Edward, you didn't tell me your wife was a shield." Eleazar announced walking up.
"What's a shield?"
"The ones I've met are so different."
"It's a defensive talent."
"It's why I couldn't read your mind, even before. It's why Aro couldn't.
"You have a very powerful gift."
"I'll say! Aro couldn't read your mind?" I double checked with Bella.
"No."
"Huh." I thought for a moment before a smirk grew on my face. "Kol." I heard Rebekah warn. "Aren't you all curious?" I asked my siblings. "Bella, darling," I began looking her dead in the eyes "Break Edward's hand."
"What?" The Vampire in question spat before his newborn wife easily snapped his marble appendage. "Ow!"
"Edward, I'm sorry! I didn't want to but he said it so I did it." She spun around to face me "Why did I do that?"
Pulling me behind her, Rebekah replied "It's called compulsion, love. Our species of vampires can compel humans, and we Originals, can compel anyone and anything. Including an Olympic vampire with a mental shield. Good to know."
"I take back what I said about it being powerful." I mocked.

Suddenly, Kate grabbed Bella's hand and zapped her "Huh, not bad. Powerful enough, that should have put her on her ass."

Thankfully, I was interrupted from Kate and Garrett's flirting by the sound of footsteps running. "Shut up!" I barked. "Someone's here."
"Who?" Rosalie asked.
"I don't know. But there's 2 of them." I paused. "Oh, and your four-legged friends are chasing them."
"Where..." Carlisle began to ask but the lesser species finally picked up on the sounds and scent.

My family and I walked at a leisurely pace behind the frantic baby vamps; we might not have known who the visitors were but we could tell they weren't the Volturi due to the lack of sounds caused by billowing capes. By the time we arrived we heard the dark haired one say "We have been waiting a millennium for the Italian scum to be challenged."

"We'll that makes three of us." Klaus began walking forward and pulling me with him "My dear brother and I have been waiting for our noble brother to pull his head out of his arse and stop making polite with your so called leaders."
"Klaus Mikaelson, your majesty." The dark-haired one (Stefan) greeted standing up and bowing to my hybrid brother.
"And Kol and Elijah Mikealson and Rebekah Mikaledottir, your highnesses." The peroxide one (Vladimir) also greeted in shock that we were standing before them. I remembered them now; along with the Volturi they were the oldest magic vampires.

"It's not our plan to fight the Volturi." Carlisle announced. I rolled my eyes and gestured between myself and Klaus that it was our plan.
"Aro's witnesses do enjoy a good fight."
"You say that like I'll leave anyone who aligns with that man alive." Klaus decreed.
"Aro's witnesses." Eleazar questioned.
"Aw. Still hoping they'll listen?" Vladimir mocked Carlisle.
