Despite Jay's low rank, they were to recover once The Voice began to announce the next test. "Before the global viewers' vote ends, we'll now reveal the third test of Part two: The Concept Test. This test will consist of two units, one with five members and one with six."
The group started with twelve contestants, but only eleven would participate in the test?
"However, the I-LANDER who gets eliminated by the final global vote won't perform. Let's unveil the mini-mission that will determine the unit members."
The screen flickered to life, showcasing the popular group SEVENTEEN, causing gasps of surprise from the I-LANDers, who hadn't anticipated another guest appearance after BTS.
Dino, the youngest of the group was the first one to start speaking. "We heard you I-LANDers will be covering our songs for the mini-mission: 'PRETTY U' and 'HIT.' They each have a distinct vibe. Would you like us to explain the key points of each song?" Dino asked.
"Sure!" Jun began. "'PRETTY U' is the more refreshing of the two. It requires you to focus on your facial expressions to convey that freshness."
"The other song, 'HIT,' is powerful and energetic," The8 explained. "Perfect synchronization in choreography is essential."
Hoshi added, "There's a significant advantage for the first-place winner, so make sure to prepare well. We'll be visiting in 24 hours — work hard!"
As their video concluded, the screen switched to show the assigned units: Sunoo, Daniel, Sunghoon, Jungwon, Jake, and Ta-Ki were set for 'PRETTY U,' while Ni-Ki, Heeseung, Jay, K, Hanbin, and Aeri were in the 'HIT' team.
Aeri felt a surge of excitement. She had always preferred the stronger, more powerful concepts and was relieved to be in a team where most members excelled in performance and dance.
"You can now practice for the mini-mission with your teams," instructed the voice, and a twenty-four hour countdown appeared on the egg's shell.
The two teams didn't wait to get to a practice room aware of the tight schedule they had if they wanted to succeed in the mission.
It came as no surprise the next morning when the egg-shaped gate began to turn. But despite knowing the famous group were coming, everyone in the ground-floor practice room was startled when the egg began to move. They hadn't realized the countdown had ended.
They scrambled to tidy up the room after bowing to SEVENTEEN through the glass separating them from the lobby.
"How's practice going? We've been watching you," Dino asked as Ni-Ki went to gather the others.
When the PRETTY U team arrived, they all bowed, clearly impressed to be in front of the famous group.
"We heard you took the test yesterday. How many hours have you practiced?" Hoshi inquired, curiosity evident.
"About eight hours," they replied.
"Is this the first time you'll see each other's performances?" Hoshi continued, eliciting some head shakes from the group.
"This will be exciting then! Let's start with the 'HIT' team!" Aeri felt a rush of nerves as they prepared to perform in front of such renowned artists.
Once the performance ended, The8 praised Ni-Ki for his charisma, while Hoshi acknowledged the challenge of the choreography given their limited practice time.
After the PRETTY U team's performance, Dino congratulated both teams on their hard work. "Now, for the results: the winning team is... the PRETTY U unit!"
"The first-place I-LANDER will receive a benefit: in the third test, they can select the song and their teammates," he added.
"Drumroll, please... The first place I-LANDer is... Sunoo!"
