Five and I ended up finding the hotel that Hazel and Cha-cha we're staying in. We left them a note saying we have their briefcase and we left a location. It was just a road in the middle of nowhere.
We brought Luther too. Just in case something happened to us.
Now we're sitting in a car with Luther. Five sat in the front and I sat in the back. My head was against the window and I was staring outside.
"You know, we never enjoyed it." I hear Five say, breaking the silence.
"What?" Luther asks.
"The killing. I mean, we were.." He trailed off.
"We were good at our work, and we took pride in it. But it never brought us pleasure." I say now turning my head to look at them.
"I think it was all those years alone, where it was just the two of us. Solitude can do funny things to the mind." He says.
"Yeah, well, you were gone for such a long time. I only spent four years on the moon, but that was more than enough. It's the being alone that breaks you," Luther says, "You guys think they will buy it?"
"Well, what I do know is that they're desperate. It's like a cop losing his gun. If the Commission finds out, they'll be in deep shit." Five says.
"Not to mention they'll be stuck here until they get it back." I chime in.
"Well, I should hold onto it." Luther says.
"Huh?" Five asks.
"In case they make a move on you." He says.
"Okay, Luther. But please be careful. I mean, We've lived a long life, but... you're still a young man. You got your whole life ahead of you. Don't waste it," Five tells him. We hear a car parking in front of us and we look up. It was Hazel and Cha-Cha.
"Let's get this over with." I say.
We all get out of the car and me and Five walk towards them. I feel nervous. I don't show it. But if this goes sideways so many things could happen.
"Were the masks really necessary?" Five asks.
They take their masks off and throws them to the side of the road.
"So where is it, kids." Cha-cha asks.
I let out a snicker. Five was about to say something but I beat him to it.
"Wow, that's how you're gonna start. You know, we can get right back in our car and call it a day." I say.
"You won't make it half way there." She says as she pulls out a gun.
"Maybe. But as I'm sure you found out in your previous foray, our brother is not your average giant," Five says.
"And I'm sure you've found out recently that my wife is discovering some new and pretty deadly powers." He says tilting his head towards me.
They both look at me and I innocently smile at them.
"By the time you've taken me out he would have smashed your briefcase to a pulp," He starts.
"And you wouldn't have more than ten seconds to take him out before she takes out you." He finishes.
"So how do we help each other?" Cha-cha asks.
"I need you to get in contact with your superior so we can have a chat with her. Face-to-face." I say.
"About what?" She asks.
"Well, I don't believe that's any of your concern."
"Just don't tell her about the briefcase." Hazel says as he walks to a payphone.
