In 2020 during the start of the Covid pandemic, I randomly looked around on youtube one day. I found a video of all the SonAmy moments in Sonic X. I watched through them all, and the relationship between Sonic and Amy was cute. I began to ship the two hedgehogs together and became interested in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It was also around that same time I looked around online for some SonAmy stories and found out more about the other characters. Even some stuff about Sonic Underground during a fanfic from a deactivated user on Deviantart.com by the name SokaiFanForever, who's story was put on Wattpad still available to read. I learned about Sonic's family and one of his greatest threats, who I soon learned was the first villain ever to kill him in a mainline game, Mephiles the Dark. When I saw the Sonic Underground show, I was impressed with Sonic and his siblings playing music to set their home free. But when I found out the show was canceled, it hurt me. But soon I found some people making movie fanfics of Sonic Underground's ending, before finding the scrapped ending for the show by ArchieSonicOnline.com. Another part of inspiration came from when I saw a piece of art of a bass guitar for Shadow. Eventually I stumbled upon some art of inklings in Sonic and Amy's style of clothes that I decided to write a story about that too.
