- Dr. Bailey POV -

I watched as Miguel ran off to Y/n room with Jenna slowly trailing behind him. As much as I want to see the smiles on the friends faces. There was a bigger issue at the moment.

"We have a problem." I said to Miguel's mother who was watching her son. She looked at me with a confused look and I pulled her off to the side to stay out of ear range. " I got a male patient with a gunshot wound to the chest. There was no ID on the guy but I didn't need one. What did Y/n get themselves into?"

"He put his hands on the twins. They used the gun as a last resort. You saw how much damage they took within a day. All those wounds aren't only from him. Something happened that same day, at school with that other kid that came in." She told me. I took a second to process the information before going back to the topic at hand.

"The football player can be dealt with later. The issue is that man is in here and it's because of Y/n. He's awake and planning something. I warned the attending that's on his case so he can tell me if he gets any ideas. We just have to make sure Y/n is protected." I told her and she nodded. We walked to Y/n's room to see Miguel talking about a fight. "Now I know you're not hyping up Y/n's fight."

"But it was dope as shit. They were moving like they were in the matrix. I mean I've seen them fight before but pulled some move to get put their sweater and it was sick." Miguel said while trying to mimick Y/n making then laugh. I looked over to see the new girl in a trance while looking at Y/n. She definitely likes them.

"Well as cool as it looked. It put somebody in the hospital. Now let me check on mini Muhammad." I said walking over to Y/n with my stethoscope in hand. Y/n sat up and while I was checking them Jenna finally spoke.

"I just want to know one thing Y/n. Why does everyone keep saying again when speaking on the situation." Jenna said looking at Y/n. I felt them tense up and I gave them a small pat saying it was OK.

"I come from a what used to be good family until my mom passed. My father is a drunk so I took care of my siblings. Last time I ended up in the hospital was because I had a heart attack. All because of the stress and adrenaline from fighting with my father and the people around me. However I had these wonderful ladies in my life to to take care of me when I'm hurt so I've been doing better." Y/n said with a smile. Jenna nodded satisfied with the answer. Everyone but her knew they didn't say the whole truth.

"Well you sound healthy and looking better but I'm gonna have to keep you over night too make sure nothing happens." I told them and they nodded. I walked out and I ran into the attending on Y/n's father case. "Any news doctor?"

"Yeah. This man is full of rage and a drunk. We've put him on medication to calm him down because he keeps making his heart beat faster even though the bullet in him grazed his heart. He was talking to one of my interns about the guy that shot him and how he was gonna do the same and take his kids back." He told me and I nodded. I thanked him quietly and walked away.

I need to keep my promise to Y/n's mother and take care of her kid. I took a deep breath before heading to the chiefs office to talk to him about the situation.

- Y/n's POV -

Aunt Bailey left the room and Miguel started talking about my fight again. Everyone was laughing and smiling but I remembered seeing the way the two adults looked when walking in my room. But to keep myself away from any drama I'm gonna stay out of grown folks business.
