Chapter 15
It's been over a month since I told Caleb about everything with me. All we have done is grow closer and closer everyday. Telling him just made us both so much closer in the end. Like how I have learned to let him touch me anyway he wants and not be afraid. I sleep with him in his bed every night and I have only been home twice since all of this. My father luckily wasn't home at all during those times. I have managed to keep Caleb from meeting him this long and I want to try to keep it even longer. It's not like my father cares if I'm home or not.
"Aiden?" I snap out of my thoughts to see Caleb waving a hand in front of my face. We are currently sitting on the couch cuddling with me in his lap and watching Dr. Who re runs.
"Hmm?" I mumble a little, tucking my head into his chest for warmth. He tightens his arms around me and kisses my forehead.
"I wanna take you out somewhere tonight." I look up at him as he smiles down at me. I bite my lip, not sure as to what to say.
"Like where?"
"To dinner silly. I mean, tonight is our 2 months. You do realize that right?" My eyes widen and I feel bad. I guess the look on my face tells him that much as well.
"You forgot didn't you?" He laughs.
"Yeah. I'm sorry." He chuckles and shrugs his shoulders.
"It's fine. I wasn't expecting you to remember. I'm just good with dates so of course I remembered." I smile at him and lean up to kiss him softly. His lips touch mine and I swear it's like the first time every time.
"So what do you say?"
I nod my head. "Sure I guess."
"Okay. We'll go get ready in a bit." I nod again and get comfortable again. Well tonight ought to be interesting. We haven't actually gone out on a proper date yet. I guess there's a first time for everything though.
A little while later we both headed upstairs to get ready. He decided that it would only be right if we both got ready in separate rooms so that it seemed more like a real date. I only laughed at him and agreed.
"Aiden, sweetie, can I talk to you?" I look up from where I was brushing my hair in the bathroom to see Caleb's mom. I smile and nod.
"Sure." She smiles and comes walks over to me, fixing the collar of my shirt. I smile gratefully, almost feeling like I have my mother back with me. I can recall her always doing that every time that I was getting ready in a nice outfit. She would wet down my hair and fix my clothes, just liking to help me.
"I wanted to ask you something." She moves away from me a little and sits on the counter as I continue to fix my hair.
"Okay. Go ahead."
"Do you like it here? Like here, with all of us." I nod and grin widely.
"I love it here. I feel at home here. It's nice." She smiles sweetly at me and nods.
"Okay, that's all I wanted to know." I nod slowly, not sure as to what to say. As she passes me I see a glitter of something in her eye but I'm not sure what. Caleb had that same look in his eye earlier now that I think about it. They are both up to something, I can feel it.
CALEB'S POV
Tonight is going to be perfect. I can just tell already with how my luck has been lately. Getting Aiden to trust me had taken a lot and I'm glad that he does now. I couldn't ask for anything better than Aiden in my life. He is perfect. Even now that he is older I can still remember the 13 year old boy that used to play with me down the street. I've never mentioned it because of that fact that I know that he doesn't remember it at all.
I can remember him becoming distant with everybody after his mother's death. He wouldn't talk, wouldn't eat, nothing. Within a couple of month's he changed completely. He went from being all nice and loving to being a completely different person. He stopped talking to me and soon turned mute and wore nothing but black clothes. I wish I would have tried to stay close to him back then. Maybe then I could have prevented all of that stuff from happening to him. He has been through so much, and I'm gonna help change that. Starting with tonight, his life would no longer be the same.
"Caleb?" I look up to see my mom in the doorway.
"Yeah?"
"Everything is set. I have all that you'll need on your bed in a folder. Good luck. I think it will go well. He told me yes so." She grins at me and I feel my smile widen. Yes, tonight will definitely be life changing.
