"are you sure you want to do this mina?" her mom asked while fixing her hair, she forced a smile and looked at her.
"this gives me life mom, I can do this, I have to find her." she said and hugged her tightly, trying not to let a tear escape from her eyes.
"just tell me if you can't anymore, okay? I'll be there no matter what." they hugged for the last time before she grabbed her luggage, heart breaking into pieces as she walked heavily towards the walkway.
she looked at her mom who was crying, she waved goodbye and did not look back once more and proceeded to take a seat in the plane.
she wore her headphones and played tchaikovsky's dance of the sugar plum fairy, blasting the music all the way up until it consumed her thoughts.
memories rushed through her mind, as she listened to the song on repeat, flashbacks occurred along with the beat of her heart.
the dim room where she had practiced a thousand times before she decided critically on what to do after all of what happened.
her favorite black dress sewed by her own mother, her reflection through the mirrors as she swayed and tip toed with the rhythm.
elegantly swinging her arms as she flung across every corner of the dim room, maintaining her composure and focusing on every step she does.
spinning with passion and dedication over and over and over again.
but she stopped midway, as tears ran down her cheeks, making her body weak that she fell down on her knees in the middle of the room.
it felt like she was walking blindly over pavements of broken glass, something that couldn't be fixed even if she tried her best to achieve this lone dream of what's keeping her going through life.
heavily breathing with the thoughts of unanswered questions, rambling every word, begging to be answered.
the room being too quiet did not help, the voices in her head only grew louder and louder as every second passed by.
the room was only filled by the sound of every tear drop, her cries which are full of rhythms of sorrow, wanting to be helped by the only person that's taking every space inside her mind.
"I will do my best to find you... please, wait for me." she whispered to herself in between sobbing, helplessly catching her breath.
only then she realized that she was crying through a memory that pushed her to be on this plane.
"I think you need this." a woman said standing along the aisle who gave her own handkerchief.
mina took off her headphones and wiped away her tears with the palm of her hand, humiliated of her current state.
she looked up at the lady and bowed her head lightly and smiled, taking the handkerchief as she wiped her tears with it.
"thank you." mina said and the woman gave her a smile before heading to the restroom.
she looked out at the window, trying to not get anyone's attention again, but she was bothered by her own self, wanting to know the woman's name.
looking at the white handkerchief given to her, something catched her eye, seeing an embroidered letter at the right end of the handkerchief.
"I." she whispered to herself, trying to think of a name that could start with the letter.
"ehem." mina's attention was drawn by the sound of a person clearing their throat, she looked at her left side and saw the woman again with a glass of water reaching it to her.
"maybe you need this as well, drink up." the woman said and mina took it kindly, saying thank you again as the woman showed another kind gesture.
"you're all alone? the seats are empty beside you." the woman asked and mina nodded as she was sipping the water given to her.
"oh, I see. well if you need anything, I'm just at the other end of the row." The woman smiled and before she could even walk away, mina handed back the handkerchief.
"you can have it, I have a lot in my luggage anyway. I'll retrieve the handkerchief in the future if I'll see you again." she said and chuckled, probably proud of what she said, and mina smiled at her shyly.
"is it okay to ask for your name?" mina asked in a quiet tone, not wanting to disturb the other passengers.
the woman was about to speak but was interrupted by the ringing of her phone.
"sorry, I have to take this call, I hope it's okay." she said and took the phone from her pocket, mina nodded and sat properly on her seat, and looked out the window again admiring the fluffy ocean of clouds below.
mina did not bother anymore to know the woman's name, not until the woman spoke once more.
"by the way, the name is Im Nayeon, I hope I will see you again someday."
