Another New Family

Jeremiah and Rachelle were the first ones to move. They both walked straight up to Laylana and without any hesitation Rachelle threw her arms around her and squeeze while saying "You must be Laylana it is so nice to finally meet you and you look so pretty.How are you? How was your drive?Are you tired?hungry?Do you have all your stuff?Do you want to see your room? You have to meet my daughter and husband oh and our dog Lucky he's a Goberian, he's a mix between a golden retriever and a Siberian husky and he is sooo adorable...". Jeremiah put his hand over his wife's mouth and finally ended her babbling that left Katey and even Laylana smiling.Jeremiah quickly calmed down his wife before she profusely apologized over and over. Jeremiah introduced himself and his daughter, Katey. Katey stepped forward with a shy smile and said" Hi I'm Katey its really nice to meet you Laylana", with a smile Laylana replied " Its nice to meet you too and I prefer to be called by nicknames"."Like what?", "Well usually i get called Laylani , Layli or Layla or Lani"she awkwardly laughed " any nickname is fine with me". Rachelle quickly jumped in and started to explain how tomorrow Layli would have to start year 10 halfway through the year with Katey and that we should unpack the boxes and get some sleep before tomorrow so that Layli would be refreshed for tomorrow. Katey couldn't help but giggle when Rachelle kept blabbering about all the fun things that you can do in town and Jeremiah just stood there sighing at the scene before him. Layli quietly let a giggle slip, looking at the family in front of her , her hope grew maybe just maybe this will be the family for me.

They all grabbed her bags out of the car and all of her boxes full of stuff. As they moved all the boxes and bags inside and up to Layli's room she couldn't help but wonder and worry about school tomorrow, she hated being the new kid cause there's that awkward introduction most teachers make you do and then there's all the questions and she had a feeling that this time she won't be able to blend into the shadows like she usually does. Being the worrywart she is Layli asked Katey all these questions and Katey couldn't answer them, cause she would never know what it was like to start school half way through the year as a new student. So instead Katey responded with " I'm not sure but I'll be there with you so you'll be ok and we'll check our schedules in the morning , we can even get there early and I'll show you where everything is". So Layli went upstairs to her room after telling Rachelle, Jeremiah and Katey that she was tired and she needed to sleep. After she got to her room Layli pulled out the clothes she needed for tomorrow and chucked some books and pens in her bag before she took off her shoes , played on the bed and just fell asleep dreaming about her first day at her new school.
