Noah is true to his word, he's snoring softly, his head bent back and resting on the wall in what looks like an uncomfortable position.
I quietly make coffee, but the noise of the brewing wakes him. His eyes scrunch together as he stretches his arms above his head, a sliver of skin shows of his torso and I remember the tattoos that littered his stomach and chest.
"Good morning," he smiles sleepily.
"Good morning," I say, quietly.
"How did you sleep?" He asks, and I hear the unspoken question.
"Not great," I say honestly, bringing him a cup of coffee and sitting next to him on the couch.
He nods silently and takes a drink of his coffee, wincing as the hot liquid hits his mouth.
"What time do you work?"
"I'm supposed to get there before the bands, but I don't really have a set time. I don't have to, but I normally stay to help clean up," I tell him.
"Well isn't that sweet of you," he jokingly rolls his eyes, "will you be okay at work tonight?"
"Yeah, he's never showed up at my work. I guess he could get in if he bought a ticket, but I don't think we would do that," I say, but honestly I'm unsure of what he will do at this point.
"Maybe you should tell security to ban him," Noah says, delicately.
"I don't think so, that's an over exaggeration. Besides, I don't want you to know about this, let alone my work. My boss might chain him to her bike and drag him over the train tracks," Noah snorts out a laugh.
"He would deserve it," the look in his eyes darken, "if you don't tell security I'm going to have to wait outside for your whole shift."
"No, Noah, I don't want you involved. I'll tell security not to let him in," I concede, I'm quickly learning that fighting with Noah isn't worth it. He always seems to win.
"And you are going to let me drive you to work, he will think you aren't there," I start to protest, but Noah tsks at me. So, I roll my eyes and nod at him. "Good girl," he says, grasping my chin in his fingers. "I'm going to let you get ready for work, I'll be back in an hour," he gets up and exits my apartment, I quickly lock the door behind him.
I take a cold shower, the water cooling my heated skin. My core throbs when I think about Noah calling me a good girl. It takes me longer to shower than I wanted to admit, I dry off and wrap my hair in a towel. I swiped some mascara on my eyes before slipping into a skirt and a sweater, I pull the towel out and put a little product to tame my curls. I'm just finishing up when Noah knocks on my door. I won't be caught off guard again, so I peek through the peep hole to make sure it's him.
"What a vision, sweet Olivia," Noah says in lieu of a greeting.
"You are so over the top," I roll my eyes at him, but let him into my apartment.
"It's nothing less than what you deserve, pretty girl," he says, tugging on a drying curl. My stomach plummets in the best way, the feeling you get on a rollercoaster, when you know you are in for a wild ride.
Noah is comfort and inhibition in a single package. He's late night diners and let me take care of your broken heart. This is so silly, I just met him. I am just getting swept up in the newness of his presence.
I wave to Noah as he drops me off in front of Marathon. Jolene is smoking out front, smirking at me as I join her.
"I know you want to say something, so spit it out already," I grumble, adjusting my camera bag.
