Chapter 5

Carmen and Miguel were in their apartment.

Miguel was stretching.

"Miggy, you've been at it since 6 a.m. That's a lot of stretching." Carmen said.

"The tournament's in a month. Sensei's going to be kicking our asses all week." Miguel said.

"And you like that?" Carmen asked.

"Yeah, I do." Miguel said.

Johnny and Sarah stood outside of Carmen and Miguel's apartment.

Johnny knocked on the door.

Carmen opened the door.

"Hey, Johnny. Hey, Sarah." Carmen greeted.

"Hey." Johnny greeted.

"Hey." Sarah greeted.

Sarah was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, black leggings, and red high-top Adidas sneakers with black laces. Her naturally straight blonde hair was tied up in a high ponytail. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, and soft brown eyeshadow. Her lip balm was a pretty peach colour.

Johnny and Sarah walked through the door.

Carmen looked at Johnny. "Your student is ready for some intense training."

"Oh, is he? All right, we'll see about that." Johnny said.

"All right, let me..." Miguel paused. "Oh, I forgot my water bottle in your car."

"Uh...The keys are on my nightstand." Carmen said.

"Okay." Miguel walked away.

Johnny sighed. "I think we should tell him tonight."

"Yeah. Okay." Carmen said.

"You sure you're not going to back out this time?" Johnny asked.

"I wanted to make sure we did it right." Carmen said.

"We'll take him to dinner. What's his favourite restaurant?" Johnny asked.

"Uh...He likes Applebee's." Carmen said.

"Uh...That's not going to work. I had a little incident there once." Johnny said.

"What happened?" Carmen asked.

"You know how they make that loaded potato soup?" Johnny asked.

"Yeah." Carmen said.

"It's like..." Johnny trailed off.

Miguel walked out of Carmen's room. "Sensei..."

Johnny, Sarah, and Carmen turned to Miguel. He was holding Johnny's black headband.

Miguel looked back and forth from Johnny to Carmen. "I think this is yours."

Johnny sighed.

Sarah looked at Miguel and said, "You might want to sit down for this."

Johnny, Sarah, Carmen, and Miguel walked into the living room. Sarah and Miguel sat on the couch. Johnny and Carmen sat across from them.

"Here's the thing..." Johnny trailed off.

"We wanted..." Carmen trailed off.

"You go." Johnny told Carmen.

"No, you." Carmen told Johnny.

Miguel spoke. "Someone should go."

"So, your mom and I are hooking up." Johnny said.

"Not just hooking up." Carmen said.
