"I thought you didn't review for the entrance exam? You passed sa UST!"

Pati ako hindi din makapaniwala.

"Chamba lang 'yan, Ma."I replied and went back to reading It starts with us.

"Later na 'yan, we will be having a celebration dinner, and I will invite your Tita Hannah and her family."

Oh, I forgot to say this, but it's already almost a month since mom had a catch-up with Hiro's mom during our neighbor's birthday celebration, and the next thing I knew, they would plant shopping every week.

Bakit ba hindi pinipigilan ni Dad si Mom? Hindi tatagal magiging jungle na ang bahay namin.

At bakit ang dami ding kilala si Mom dito sa village? Weird.

"Get ready, Sol. I will be calling your Tita Hannah na."

And then she got out of my room.

I just wore a white tube top, a light pink cardigan that I  let stay unbuttoned, and a white cotton shorts-skirt.

Pagkababa ko ng hagdan, I already saw Tita Hannah with Mom in the kitchen, and Hiro who looks uncomfortable in the coach.

"Good evening po, Tita," Salubong ko sa kanila.

"Oh, Congratulation pala."

"Thank you po."

I was about to go to my brother's room when mom told me he was with Dad.

"They bought drinks, Sol. And why don't you accompany Hiro for a moment para naman may kasama siya."

Aayaw pa sana ako pero naalala ko bigla na nandito pala si Tita Hannah.

"Ah, Hi."I said nung umupo ako sa kabilang side ng coach.

Tumango lang siya.

What the hell?

"Do you want anything? Water? Juice?"

"No, thank you."He replied without even looking at me.

Okay, at least he replied.

Dahil hindi ko na alam ang sasabihin ko, tumahimik na lang din ako.

Seriously, I can hear crickets since nag room tour ata sila Mom sa taas kaya kami lang ang naiwan dito.

I was about to strike up another question when my phone vibrated.

"Excuse me," sabi ko lang sa kanya bago tinanggap ang tawag without living my seat.

"Na patawag ka?"I asked Cindy.

"Sorry, I couldn't come. May celebration din kasi dito sa bahay."

"No, its okay. Magkita nalang tayo bukas sa coffeeshop to celebrate together."

"Okay. Send me the location lang."

"Noted. Sige, see you tomorrow."

And ended our call.

"Hiro, how many dogs do you have at home?"I asked, trying to strike up another conversation with him.

"One."

Ayon na 'yon? Ang liit naman niya sumagot.

"I'm planning to buy a dog kasi, what breed can you recommend?"

"I don't know."

I unconsciously rolled my eyes at him, and he saw it, but his too unbothered to comment on what I did.

Bahala ka nga sa buhay mo.

Hindi nag tagal, nag simula na din kaming kumain dahil dumating na sila Dad at Tito Ben.
