Chapter 1: a lot of catching up to do

Well four years let's see... I cut my hair off I've learned to somewhat use magic, the pin is some kind of a Lord of Order? Kaldur is working with Manta and I have a niece. That's either too vague or too much information at once and I don't know which.

I held my breath in the waiting room praying I wasn't going to turn into uncle Xavier when I saw my niece. My brother ran into the waiting room jumping for joy. "How is she"? My mom asked.

"Tottally gross"! He cheered running back to his wife.

"Call a code"! I heard through the doors momentarily and saw nurses rushing to my sister in law's room. I busted through the doors and saw my niece crying in my brother's arms he was crying for his wife and doctors trying to resuscitate her and stop the hemorrhaging I scooped up my niece from him and stepped into the hall. My sister-in-law's mom and my parents shoved their way in and I stood in the hall trying to soothe my niece and eventually made my way to the waiting room.

"Hi Antonia". I crooned fighting back tears. "There are so many people who love you so much I promise. No matter who I have to fight for it I will make sure you have a good life". My other brothers crowded around me while we looked at her.

"What do we do"? Eric asked.

"I don't know just pray what does mom always pray when she's scared"? Danny asked.

"He hears me already. If it is not His will he will not leave Antonia without a mother". My mom said coming up behind us. Two minutes later they called it. Chelsea died. All of the times I cheated death not one of those times could've been given to her?

Currently my brother and niece live with me in a one bedroom apartment. He needs the help Antonia is brave, she has to be but this little girl wants for nothing. She will never be asked to take the mantle on Bolt if she doesn't want to. That morning I got up before her crying woke me up my own crying woke me up. I really miss Kaldur, he's consumed any and all of my unoccupied thoughts. Not that there were many. My brother as much as my mother denies it had passed out drunk he did that more often than anyone wanted to admit. I got up and got Antonia out of bed her cot was in my room Xavier was on the fold out couch. I went to the kitchen and started making her breakfast.

"You're not ready for me". I teased her. I certainly did not think I'd be here 4 years ago. "Xavier get up"! I yelled at him. "You have work in an hour". I reminded him. He lost his cushy office job and has settled working as a guard in a bank hours suck but the pay is half decent. I worked for the Wayne foundation as an assistant for one of their major robotics experts while I was in school online through Cap Tech university. Knowing Bruce Wayne is Batman helps when it comes to job security. As for the Team, I haven't been called Bolt in nearly a year. It was for the best my time was completely occupied.

"I'm going". Xavier sighed sulking to the bathroom. I gave Ant her oatmeal and she started eating with her hands.

When she was done I started cleaning her up. "Naelc pu eht ybab ylsseltroffe". I casted and the oatmeal residue dance off of her vanishing into thin air. She giggled and I flew us over to the couch.

"Fly auntie"! She cheered and I giggled.

"Let's watch the wiggles alright"? I told her, I clicked the TV on and qued it up for her.

"Okay". She smiled.

"She's in front of the TV"! I yelled to my brother. I brushed my hair and looked in the mirror. This is not what my 20s should be. I got changed and went back to the living room. "Let's go to grandmas"! I told Antonia and she looked over at me

"Nonna"! She cheered and I grabbed my keys headed for the door.

"Wait"! Xavier yelled running after us. "Kisses"! He smiled kissing his daughter. "I'll pick her up after work". He told me.
