"There you are," I call out as I spot Seungcheol sitting on the wooden port at the mini lake.
Seungcheol looked back at my voice and smiled at me.
"Did you talk to you parents?" He asked as I came by and sat down right next ti him.
I nodded my head and said, "Yeah. They were curious to know where we are."
"Are they usually this protective?" Seungcheol asked and I couldn't help but frown slightly at his question. I didn't ever think my parents are overbearing or protective since this is very normal parent behavior but then I realized that I have barley heard Seungcheol speak about his parents.
I guess all households are different and perhaps he may not have a close relationship with parents like I do.
"They aren't protective. My dad's probably just upset since this is my first time being away with only a boy and the fact he nearly caught us almost making out yesterday doesn't help either," I say, sitting down next to him with a small groan, my legs dangling of the deck so that they were slightly above the water.
Seungcheol didn't say anything but just nodded his head slowly, as if everything I am saying makes sense to him.
I put out both of my hands out onto the deck to support myself as I lean back. The night has settled in and both Seungcheol and I enjoyed a nice but small barbecue the workers here had set up for us earlier. I had changed into a red spaghetti strap sundress after taking a shower but now I was regretting the decision since it is cooler outdoors than I had expected. Not to mention that the dress has a rather deep cut on the back, leaving my shoulder blades completely exposed.
"I really hope we have some classes together next semester," I say, swinging my legs back and forth. Although the summer day was hot, the night is much more pleasant now and the warm wind blowing through really refreshes my mood.
"We probably will," Seungcheol said, "Haven't we always had classes together every semester?"
I glance at Seungcheol, a bit surprised and say, "We have. . .but I didn't realize you knew me?"
The last bit came out more as a question than a statement and this time Seungcheol looked at me and explained, "I didn't know who you were. But I have always recognized your face since I we had many classes together in our first year. We also ran into each other on our very first day of university. Don't you remember?"
This time I gape at him in evident surprise, asking, "You remember that."
"I do," Seungcheol said, shrugging as if its no big deal and saying, "You rammed really hard into my ribcage that day."
I tilt my head as I think back to that day. In all honestly, now that time has passed, the only thing I remember from that day is Seungcheol's handsome face. After all, that is where my crush on him began in the first place.
"The only thing I remember from that day is your face," I tell him bluntly.
Seungcheol looked at me in surprise yet there is a smile on his face indicating that he is pleased by what I said.
"My face?" He questioned.
"Yeah," I gave him a small side glance and say,"Where do you think I started liking you from."
"From that day?" Seungcheol asked, "By that just one interaction?"
Sensing the teasing tone in his voice, I roll my eyes and say, "Well can you blame me? What is a girl supposed to do when a handsome face just pops up in front of her face?"
Seungcheol laughed at the flattery and said, "I've always known I'm good looking but hearing it come from you is just so much more satisfying."
He reached out and tucked a finger underneath my chin before slowly guiding my face to turn towards the right so that we both are looking at each. He lets go of my face and drops his hand right on top of mine, covering my small palm with his big ones.
