Please don't get upset if I don't update for a bit; remember theres other lives behind the screen. I have things I need to do and writing is rarely a top priority. thank you so much for reading and I hope ya'll remember to follow my request. enjoy this chapter!)

After being in this city for only a few hours, Smokey and Jinx now had themselves seven dabloons each. Of course that's not much if you actually want to live in this society, but it was a good start. The two decided to look for small jobs and tasks, to make themselves some more money to afford a place to sleep for the night. They both agreed that even if they could rent a room, it wold be better than nothing. By the end of the day, they met up at the bridge near the front of the city to add up their earnings.

"Jinx! Hey!" Smokey called, seeing Jinx already waiting for them as they ran over to the bridge. They stop and attempt to begin a conversation.

"Hey... bloons... Got some." Smokey says, panting as they have never had much stamina for running.

"Yeah! I got twenty-eight so far!" Jinx replies, somehow managing to understand the words that escaped their friends mouth. Smokey just stared at them wide-eyed, mouth agape.

"Twenty-eight?? I only got fourteen!" They stated, shocked that their friend somehow made twice the amount they did.

"How did you manage that?" Smokey asked, genuinely curious.

"I just went around looking for things people might need help with. Same as you I would assume." Jinx was slightly shocked that Smokey only managed fourteen. Smokey just looked disappointed.

"Okay, well anyway," Smokey started, attempting to escape the topic, "This means I have twenty-three in total, and you have thirty-five. So if we combine then we have seventy-eight. that's definitely enough to find room for the night.

So the two went off once again, searching for an inn, or someone who would be willing to give them a room. they ended up settling in a small inn near the outer edge of the other side of town. The owner asked them for ten dabloons for one night, giving them a discount because Jinx had helped him carry his food inside earlier that day. Before entering, they sat in the porch to watch the make-shift stars on the ceiling of the hole the city was resting in. Jinx nudged Smokey to grab his attention.

"Do you think we'll start to miss the outside sky" They asked, the sadness clear in their voice.

"Probably, but we know our way out. We can see it whenever we'd like." They said in response, knowing soon, they too would begin to feel homesick.

The two settled for the night, and began to prepare for what journey the morning may bring them.
