(Flashback, Charlie's POV)
Standing at the Nelson household's front door I'm feeling relieved. Relieved that I finally get to see Nick after having not seen him all day. Without nervousness or hesitation, (like when I had gone to meet Nellie), I rang the doorbell.
Immediately I can hear the sound blaring out inside of the house, and then footsteps loudly making their way towards the door. The knob twists and then the door gets pulled back. In front of me stands Nick. He's wearing a light blue graphic t-shirt with a wave design and a pair of sweatpants that have a line cascading down both sides of it. Many would call it comfy attire, but that's just his regular clothing. I don't mind it though because number one, he looks great, and number two, that makes him extra nice to lay on.
"Hey." I breathe out. I'm still in my Truham rig out, but the tie is loosened around my neck. Nick studies my state, his eyebrows are raised and his eyes are sort of wide. "Hey...are you o-" I slump against his body, and that's when he finishes his sentence, "-kay?" Compared to the weight of how much it sucks to not have Nick at school with me, my backpack is pretty light. With my head resting on his shoulder, I speak, my words are muffled, but Nick can understand what I'm saying.
"School sucks without you."
