"See, I told you guys she's a monster. Can't feel a single thing." Rebuked a condescending boy "Let's get out of here, we don't want to be seen with her." As he spoke, the boy and his two friends strutted away from the injured girl.
She struggled to her feet and started limping the other way with a gloomy look on her face. She was used to the gang of boys. At school, they called her "The Angel of Death", otherwise known as TAD. Infamously, everyone she had ever loved died. As she shuffled along, she encountered a little house in the middle of the woods. She decided to go to it and try to patch herself up before going home. Her grandpa would worry otherwise. Entering quietly, she opened a window then closed the door. She sat down, pulling out painkillers and bandaids. As she tended to herself, she heard a noise, like a dull creaking. Realizing someone may have followed her, she retrieved her knife and picked up her backpack to investigate the other room. She cracked open the door and saw no one.
The room was compact like the rest of the house. A little bed wasted away in the corner and a dresser rotted across from it. There was no telling how long it had been abandoned. Suddenly, the door slammed shut. The girl jumped.
She decided to leave before it got too late. She opened the door but the room she had come from was gone. Instead, there was a hallway, like she had discovered another part of the house. Before she could process what was happening, she heard the dull creaking again, only now it roared. It was like the walls were screaming out in anguish, crying for help like they were in pain. She knew something was coming, and it wasn't Christmas. She rushed into one of the doors offered by the hallway. Entering what seemed to be a kitchen, she hid behind a counter not daring to breathe. As she hid from who knows what, her eyes frantically searched for an exit.. Her gaze locked onto a doggie door. Then she heard it again, that creaking. It was right above her. She held her breath so tight any normal person in any normal situation would have passed out. Slowly, she tilted her head back. Until she saw it. The creature. An overwhelming horror pulsed through her as her eyes met its stare.
Its form was that of a towering wolf, but it was squatting like a man. What should've been front paws likened more of veiny hands. Limbs stretched to a grotesque length. Its eyes were black, black as death itself. It certainly didn't look nice.
Shaking with dread, the girl desperately tried to crawl towards the doggy door In her bolt, however, she had knocked a pan from the counter. It crashed down right next to her, ringing certain doom. The creature snapped its head around like an owl, then it was gone. The girl thought it was like every other animal, just as scared as she was. That wasn't the case. There was a sudden wetness around her neck, the slimy flesh of the wolf's tongue. Knowing her fate, the girl cried out in desperation. Screaming, she pleaded for her life. She longed to see her grandpa again
"I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry! Mom I basically killed you, Dad if I was stronger I could have helped, and Clair if I hadn't agreed to be your friend you would still be alive! SOMEONE HELP PLEASE, HAVE MERCY ON ME, HELP!!!"
Once her lungs couldn't yell anymore , a loud thud shook the room. This was her chance. Without thinking, her legs lunged for the doggie door and forced her through it. There was another monster on the other side, but it wasn't nearly as abominable as the wolf creature. This little monster was only about three feet tall with eyes littering its face, just eyes. It wore a violet cloak that popped up at the top like cat ears.
"Hello there. Don't worry, I won't hurt you," he comforted, "I'm a good guy." Its voice deepened to a growl, "Unless you dare to harm me!" Before lashing back to a childlike tone, "I'm just kidding. My name is Vo-, I mean Argus. What's your name?"
The girl responded, her voice quivering, "M-my-my na-name i-is Alina."
"WOW! Alina. That's pretty, like the prettiest name I've ever heard in my life. WOW!" Argus exclaimed, overjoyed. "CAN WE BE FRIENDS, ALINA!?"
"Uhhhh... sure. We can be friends, and as my friend, could you help me find the exit to this house?" Alina agreed.
"YAY!" exploded Argus, "I've never had a friend before, and as your friend I'll help you find the exit to this scary place. That's a PROMISE!"
As Argus yipped and yapped, Alina wondered if she had actually made a new friend to help her out of this dreaded house.
