The aroma of freshly baked goods spread throughout the cafe and although the two sat in the same spot this caused them to be worlds apart.

While one was overthinking all of his preceding actions the other was more worried about what she wanted for dinner.

"I could get pizza but I'm low-key craving Mexican food" Y/n contemplated internally while the man sitting across from her thought

"I have to do this correct way. Don't fuck this up Levi"  He lectured himself repeatedly before his self deflected thoughts were interrupted.

"So am I not invited to this gala" the beautiful woman asked nonchalantly, not really caring if she was or wasn't though she did like the idea of dressing up she didn't really like the idea of being surrounded by snobby celebrities all night.

"Ofcourse you are" Levi replied with his regular monotone voice and face. The thing about Levi is he isn't knowledgeable about showing his emotion through expression. It's not that he wants to keep up this image it's that he never truly had the privilege of feeling anything other than hardships.

Therefore when he experiences light in his life, he doesn't know what it is or how to embrace it.

Well where my fancy invite babes" Y/n asked with her eyebrows scrunched and head tilted leaning forward across the table awaiting the dark-haired male's response.

After taking a second to admire the way the light beaming from the window bounced off her skin and reflected onto her beautiful face emphasizing her admirable facial features.

"you're looking at it" he curtly responded before taking a sip out of his cup and turning his gaze towards the very same window, avoiding the expression of the said women across from him.

"Pardon" she flat out asked because to her he was insinuating something but she didn't want to bluntly state it incase she was trippin and overthinking but was he really saying what she thought he was saying?

"Can I be your plus-one, brat-"he started but quickly changed his phrasing in fesr of rejection

"-It doesn't have to be a date or anything like that but-"he instated with a rising blush in his ears before he was interrupt by a light laughter which soon turned into a serious of heavy laughter which turned into wheezes.

"Mr.Ackerman your too funny for this world" she was able to let out while trying to catch her breath.

"excuse me" he replied, confused as to what joke he never spoke that made her laugh so much. Was he the joke? Did he embarrass himself again?

Once Y/n was able to see the slight embarrassment within Levi's mannerisms she quickly pulled herself together.

"I'm sorry it wasn't anything you said, I just laugh at everything" she quickly explained which caressing his hand that laid on the table.

The last thing she wanted to do was embarrass someone. She contemplated if she should keep going with her exclusive persona or finally cut the man some slack.

He didn't seem much of beggar which was true he wasn't. He had only ever been in one technical relationship which was a story for another chapter but it was very out of norm for him to be doing this and to even be as interested in a woman this much.

A part of him hates this attraction but a part of him can help but to fall into those seductive eyes that gleam whenever something is interesting to her. The way her hair flows along with her classy movements. Her scent that fills his nostrils of vanilla, cocoa butter and a little bit of cinnamon. The way you prioritize your friends to the point that the seem like family to you.

He's even been able to pick of the simplest of things about you that he adores. From the way you bite the inside of you cheek when your thinking to hard to your fashion scene. He could spend the rest of his life finding the things he is strung up on but to be fair he also doesn't know a lot.

But he sure wants to.

While the women not so much.

She's in her prime right now.
She's running businesses upon businesses upon businesses. Come' on know y'all.

She's has worked towards being at a point in her life where she doesn't have to rely on anyone and she's finally made just for her to spiral back and end up relying on a man.

Don't get her wrong Y/n is well aware of what a catch Levi Ackerman is but she is also aware of how much a catch she is as well.

She is simply to booked and busy for man

But she doesn't wanna miss out on the opportunities that come with this route.

No not money, fam, and power
But laughter, partnership and a chance at a new family.

So as the two sat at the table lost in their heads about how the relationship would change from here on, Levi finally got his answer.
