Accalia woke early the next morning, her body, damp and felling like it was on fire. Wiping the droplets of sweat that trickled down her face, she made her way out onto the deck hoping the mornings freezing breeze would cool her. The woods looked different shaded in grey, the sun awaiting its time to bless the world in light.
Feeling the cool breeze touch her cheeks and neck, Accalia started to get angry realising it wasn't cooling her down. Was she getting sick? Did this have to do with her being a wolf? Dropping to her knees on the grass, her hands gripped the ground as she clenched, the fire burning inside her progressing, becoming even less tolerable as sweat poured from every possible gland. Growing with it was her anger. Accalia was extremely angry but what was a worthy justification for the way she felt? There wasn't one.
"Morning she wolf, would you like a coffee?" Ben asked from the door way behind her as he was now awake. As soon as she heard him it stopped, she was suddenly back to normal. Looking at her hands still holding fist's full of the earth, she wondered what had just happened and why did it stop just as suddenly as it started? Returning the soil to the ground she stood, wiping the remainder of dirt from her hands on her pants as she faced him. Seeing her face Ben, felt something was off. "You alright?" He asked her stepping towards her. "Just needed air" she lied. "Now, did you say coffee?". Accalia shot him a quick fake smile as she passed him heading back inside.
The kettle was already whistling when they entered, Ben had previously filled and flicked it on before walking out to her. He rushed across the kitchen to grab it and started making them both a cup. Handing hers over with a smile, he leaned against the island with his hip. "You sure your ok?" He asked. "One usually doesn't pray to the grass in the early morning". A slow smile increasing with every word. Taking a sip from his mug, Ben looked away to prevent himself from laughing.
"You think you're funny don't you?" Accalia questioned before blowing the contents inside her cup.
Ben faced her again. "Don't think love, know".
"Full of yourself too" Accalia added before taking a mouthful of coffee. Ben smiled at her in both shock and surprise.
"Sup losers" Troy's voice echoed in the kitchen as he entered, spotting the two of them. He was shirtless and wearing a pair of black trackpants. Helping himself to a cup of coffee he joined the other two. "Been up long?".
Accalia ogled him, for some reason he seemed to be more alluring to her, she was appraising him and he noticed. Giving her a wink, she snapped out of this puppy love faze and stepped back. Glancing between the two she freaked. Was she really just looking at Troy like he was some type of snack?, like she was attracted to him? She wasn't was she? Panicking she quickly grabbed her cup and walked back out onto the deck.
"You seen that right?" Troy asked Ben. "She wanted me" he smiled being completely sure of himself.
"She's starting to shift you moron" Ben laughed at him. "You may have been the first but your not going to be the last, once her hormones are balanced she will transform, then you will go back to being invisible to her". He grabbed his cup and followed Accalia.
Upon seeing Ben, Accalia tried to walk away but he stopped her. "Stop ya twit, we understand" he informed her. "you're going to change the next full moon". She stopped. "What happened in there, has happened to all of us. It occurs when your body is processing, preparing itself for transformation. Your senses will be confusing and all over the place at times, impulses may get harder to control, the only thing you can do is try not to act on them. If this happens before a full moon then come that moon you will change".
Accalia eased to his words, she didn't feel like such an idiot due to her actions. Sitting in one of the chairs she took this moment to ask about Charlottes party. "That guy at-" she started to say before he cut her off. "Skewer head" he sat across from her. "He's a wizard". Accalia looked at him in shock and he smiled. "Everything that co-exists with the werewolf, co-exists with us here".
