as jackson was close friends with namjoon, it was no surprise that the maknaes of each group would become friends. yugyeom had a crush on jeonghwa from the start, and as their conversations continued jeonghwa started to develop her own crush on the boy. the two began dating in secret as yugyeom's company had a dating ban in place. after awards shows jeonghwa would sneak over to his hotel room for a few hours before returning so his manager wouldn't get suspicious. jeonghwa felt as in love as a teenager could be, but soon everything fell sour when she saw pictures of him kissing a trainee in an empty practice room. jeonghwa was distraught, refusing to speak or look at him anytime he tried to speak to her. as the years passed and she matured she eventually began to speak to him again, but she knew she would never forget.

while recovering from her breakup with yugyeom, jeonghwa was surprised to see one of her old friends from when she was under sm entertainment had finally made his debut. she congratulated the boy the second she was able to contact him, and the two excitedly began reconnecting after a long time. she didn't know how the two began dating, but after multiple secret outings the two decided to make it somewhat official. the relationship didn't last long, and they called it off some months after, but the two still remain in touch and good friends.

jeonghwa met dacre on the set of stranger things where she played his characaters love interest. the two bonded quickly on the fact they were both from australia, and were quick to exchange numbers. it wasn't long before she was getting butterflies everytime they worked together and after dacre worked up the courage to ask her on a date. the pairs relationship soared. they were truly in love, and dacre was, at one point, sure that she was who he wanted to marry. then the covid pandemic hit, and began the first bits of strain on their relationship. jeonghwa couldn't travel outside of korea for a while and for awhile they were able to make it work, but as time went on the distance became harder and after a lengthy talk, the pair decided it was for the best for them to break up. the two are still close friends, and talk highly of each other anytime the other is mentioned.
